I really like this streamlined Shakespeare version to read with my 7th graders. I like how it has it in an easy-to-understand story format, and then it has it in the play format too for a more authentic experience.

I gave this 4 stars because there are a few times it leaves out important details and we have to read the full Shakespeare text (like Act III scene 1) but other than that it's great.

As a woman, I have to just forget about women's lib while reading this and remember that it was another time and they just really lived another in another world. I feel bad for Kate A LOT throughout the story, but she's also so mean I can see why the other characters treat her the way they do.

Probably the most stunning and hilarious part of this story for me is that the fathers don't get mad at Lucentio for all of his lies. He gets just what he wants by being a liar and everyone's cool with that.

i gave it this rating because it really gets you wondering what could happen next like a cliff hanging problem that is just so wondering and wanting to know what happens next especially when the dad finds out that his son didn't go to university and just married a woman who is wealthy like him and the fact that they turned a shrew lady nobody loved to the person who is more obedient to there husband at the end and the way that even the sweetest looking didn't listen more shocked the father of the two what would make it better is if they actually made kate get listened to and heard her out and they started changing there minds of kate marrying him and that when they find that bianca secretly got marry they wouldn't allow it and see what the circumstances will be.

it was a great book to read about how lucentio trying to concure biancas love and he made him seem like he was a tutor for bianca and the other two men were trying to get bianca to marry one of them but when lucentio told bianca in her latin class he spoke some latin so hortensio didnt hear what they were talking about bianca did believe him and kate got married to this barbaric man that only loved her for her beuity and her wealth he tried to win kates love but she was a shrew she didnt want anything to do with him and they went to live somewhere else that was far away from kates home so she agreed with him.

I thought this book was really good because it had happy parts and exciting parts and worried parts and it was just so entertaing. The reason i rated it five stars is because of how all the charcters fit in to the story. Plus i like how kate was not like her sister she was a stron indepent woman who did not like being told what to wear and do so she she really was not a shrew except she was when she was hitting and trying to kill peopel. I would totally recomen this book to my sister or friends because it is a great book. I just don;t really like ho binca was so obedient no matter what . I think she needs to stick up for herself.

I pick these many stars because it was okay. I did not like were people were being people. I was like who was who in the story. But then I got who was who. I like how it is was talking about how life was back then for these people. Someone should read it because it tells you like what was life like back then. But is they Shakespeare then they would like this book. If they like to read were books take place in the old times then they would like this book to. If I could change something is the way that Kate acts to people. But I would make Kate a nice person who loves to talk to people then fight with them. But it was a good book to read.

i give this play a five star rating because it was a very good play. it was very cruel how petruchio treated kate to get her to be nice because she could have died because of not eating. people who like romance should read this play or if they can watch it some how but it would be really good for people who like that stuff. in the end it made sense finally because it can get very confusing at the beginning because of all of the characters that you don't know and are new makes it confusing also because some of them switch identities.

I thought the book was great and all but it was kinda nasty how only men acted out so that´s why i give it 4 stars.You should read either way tho,why because t is about men trying to get a women named Bianca but her father said that`Kate must be married first´. So this dude named Petruchio tries to tame his new wife Kate and makes her not eat until she follows everything he say´s. You should read this book but the only thing that could make this is the actress where the roles are women for the actors to be actual women.

I sort of liked the book but it sort of made me confused only because of the character because they were named differently or hard to pronounce and some character switched names and clothing. I rated 4 stars only because of the confusion i had of the characters. More people should read this because of people really think of other people and how they could change peoples life. If they didn't have two people that had almost the same name.

The reason why I put three stars is because it was really confusing to figure out who is the servant of who and who is the father of a person. Also it is really mixed up and the different settings are just hard to comprehend, especially for me. I think other people should read it because it is really good and it makes you feel like you are on the edge of your seat, like suspension. I think putting it in order would make it easier for people to read instead of throwing new characters at you.

i choose that many stars because it was really interesting but a bit confusing in the parts where the guys changed how they really were just to get Bianca to fall in love with them. Someone else should read this if they enjoy reading shake-sphere or they like old books about things that used to happen in marriages. This book could be better if the author explained more about the marriage of Bianca.

I think the book was OK. I was told another one of Shakespeare's plays called Hamlet and I compared the two and I liked Hamlet more. Probably because we got to act it out in front of an I pad camera and watched our part and got to make it funny. But The taming of the shrew was OK in my opinion. I feel like it could have been better.

i loved this book. I like how it was about a shrew and love. I love how it was how it a bout a man new in town and he found the love of his life but he had to lie to marry her and how he had well he didn't have to but he used his servants name and clothes to win her over. Although Petruchio was mean and rude to Kate they make a good family.

I love this book even though its harsh for kate that's what she gets.I gave this book a five star because this book is really entertaining and wants you to read more and more.It just grab your attention.I think you should read this book because Its funny and very confusing at the start and gets really juicy and it will make it better if the name wasn't so similar

i gave it three stars because i am not that into Shakespeare so i did not like it also i believed that the book had an expected twist but the thing that i did not like is when our teacher kept reminding us that all the actors were guys so when they kissed she would remind us. it would be better if she didn't and if the ending was as expecting it was just boring to me.

In my opinion this book wasn't really my favorite because I didn't really understand it. This is because the characters kept disguising themselves and changing who they were and I got confused. But the script part of the book I did understand because it was in parts so it was easier to read. One thing I would change about the book is how certain characters switch and go to places.

I gave this book 4 stars out of 5 because it really could have gone into a little more detail in every passage about whats going on. I think this is a good read because it simplifies Shakespeare play so that less experienced readers can understand it better

I gave it this rating because it was a good story but I wouldn't want to read it on my free time. This would be a good book to read for someone that likes reading Shakespeare books or old books. It would be better they gave more details about what happened and more people fighting over Bianca.

The "Taming of the Shrew" is a quite interesting quick read that I would, for the most part, recommend. I personally read a version of the novel that had the text in both Shakespearean English and contemporary English. This made it SO MUCH EASIER to understand!

This is the version of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew that I used with my 7th graders. I was pleasantly surprised with how well they took to it. Anderson's version features two parts. First, the scenes are summerized in detail in prose. The second part is a play format with simplified dialogue. The play is what the kids read aloud as a class. I was a bit unsure about introducing Shakespeare with a streamlined version of The Taming of the Shrew, but I believe it has been successful in giving my 7th graders access to Shakespeare's plot forming genius.

it was not as boring as i thought that it would be and i actually liked it and i think that if there was or is another book just like it then i would definitely would read it and hopefully it would be interesting like this one and not boring.

I thought the taming of the shrew was pretty good but Kate had a bad temper.
