Leslie Johnson is one of those writers that will shine brightly no matter what, her stories are always incredible its like a staring a one of Leonardo Da Vinci's pantings sheer brilliance and wonder your awe struck just by reading it.

Ashes Book 2 picks up exactly where the first leaves off Gage and Beth have been hiking and Gage located the cave with the bodies and the police have been called. Now they are going through the investigation After the long day of going through the questions and finally going home these two spend the night together and things are actually looking good they get a connection and Beth opens up to Gage and its looking like there might be a relationship on the horizon. Um not so much our boy actually starts to pull away and you didn't actually think things were going to go smoothly did you turns out that the bodies were an even bigger problem than we thought someone is now after Beth and possibly Gage as well. Is there anyway these two are even going to be able to survive much less start a relationship? Well we will have to wait and see in the next book because Leslie worked us up as readers in this one big time! This book is one major emotional rollercoaster, your going to get everything from happy to sad, to angry and some intense sexual moments and you will get really pissed and want to toss your e-reader a time or two I know I did. The book is incredible suspenseful and full of action from beginning to end Leslie does an amazing job of creating a connection with the characters and making it so easy for us as readers to fall in love with them its honestly an amazing read I couldn't put it down. If you haven't downloaded it yet go for it and don't miss out it's amazing!

This is the second book in this series and you must read them in order. This book picks up right where the first one left off. Gage has just found the bodies of seven women after helping rescue the boy Brandon. Beth and Gage are there for what feels like forever going there story to the police. Gage shows them where he found the women and how as well as the clues he saw as to what may have happened. That night is different for him and Beth. They show each other a different part of themselves. The next day Gage notices that Beth looks at him the way Steph looks at Ken and gets worried. He doesn't to be tied down or that just what he is telling himself. Beth is having difficulty dealing with her feeling about Gage as well. What will happen? Will they finally admit how they feel about each or will it be too late? The more I read the more I get sucked into this story. The characters are so great. Plus I am a sucker for a mystery. I am anxious to find out what happens next.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.

CLIFF HANGER, AGAIN, PEOPLE!

Book one, ended on a cliff hanger, and book two does too. I restate my advice to wait till all parts are available before you read these!

After Gage's discovery at the end of book one, Beth and he are back to f88k buddies, and not exclusive. Beth catches Gage with his pants round his ankles, quite literally, and runs, straight into the next cliffhanger!!

I still feel that something is missing, and I can't quite put my finger on it, so again, not quite five stars.

They are written from both characters POV, in the first person, and I didn't notice it quite so much in the first part as I do here, it bothered me here and I've no idea why it would not bother me in one part but it does in the second, sorry!

so, again, cliff hanger + missing something + dual first person POV =

4 stars

Wow! Just Wow! Adrenaline is running high in Ashes 2. Gage and Beth, friends with benefits, discover a gruesome scene while on their hike. Are they in danger? Is someone sabotaging people in their town? Beth just might be falling for her sexy friend and Gage is desperate to gain control of his feelings. Strange things start happening. Will they get to the bottom of it unharmed? Leslie Johnson has me hooked. An incredible volume with an outstanding cliffhanger. You will not be disappointed!

This book was given to me by the author in exchange for an hones opinion.

I loved this book. It is exciting with lots of action and lots of angst. This is the second book in the series, and I absolutely could not put it down.

Beth is the close friend of Stephanie from the Embers series and Gage and Ken are also close friends. Stephanie and Ken are engaged while Beth and Gage are "friends with benefits."

When Gage rescues a young boy who has fallen, he discovers dead women, all wearing white dresses and laying side by side. It is obviously the work of a serial killer.

When Beth let on how she feels to Gage, he decide that he needs to step back from her. So he goes out with another girl while Beth goes out with the "girl." However, they all end up at the same place. I cannot say anything else without spoiling the story.

I loved this book, because so many different things and each one is exciting as the next. I really enjoyed when Gage and Ken go out on a run to an automobile accident. It was very realistic.

In spite of the fact that this book as some very hot graphic love scenes, the author has a lot of exciting plots going on at the same time. Plus besides the chemistry between Beth and Gage, it is obvious that they both care about each other, even though they try to hide it.

Warning: There is cliffhanger. I CANNOT wait until the next book comes out!

Wow! You must read book one first. Beth a nurse and Gage a firefighter who are friends with benefits decide to go on a real date - they go on a five hour hike. They had a great day until Gage has to rescue a boy who fell from a cliff and makes a gruesome discovery - the remains of several dead bodies. After that, he has a nightmare about something in his childhood and Beth comforts him. Gage decides he needs to clear his head because he is getting too close to Beth. Meanwhile, Beth has a feeling that someone is watching her. She decides to go out to a club with Stephanie, Hannah and some of her other friends but.....cliffhanger! This is a great read, though at times I want to give Gage a good slap upside the head! I cannot wait for Book 3. I received this book as an ARC copy for an honest review.

I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author Leslie Johnson. This is book 2 of Ashes by the author. This is from Gabe and Beth's POV.

While saving a teenager Gage discovers a putrid smell from a cave and goes to investigate it. What he finds is utterly disturbing and Beth goes to get help. Beth is feeling like she is being watched when they come back from the vet. At a club Gabe goes off with a blond and Beth follows but things turn out bad when Beth feels a hand around her mouth and a breath on her neck.

WOW talk about a cliffhanger. The inner conflicts that both characters have is what really makes the story worth reading. The author wrote great characters and their interaction with others is fantastic.

This is for any mature romance book reader who enjoys a little drama with their read.

Book two picks right up after the cliffhanger of book one, and you really need to read it before continuing this book.#

After the discovery when they were hiking things go back to normal with Beth and Gage's relationship of friends with benefits. He starts to see how much Beth is falling for him and wanting more that just the benefits which panics him so he decides to go an a "date" and Beth literally catches him with his trousers round his ankles whilst she is out with the girls.

This is when Beth gets caught up in a nightmare that has ties with the rape she endured when she was younger.

I cant say much more as I don't want to drop to many spoilers, but I am hooked on this series and I cant wait to start book 3, I am glad I have waited to read then all together rather than wait in between as this is just too intense!

After a daring rescue Gage has come across a grizzly scene but as it turns out it brings memories back from Gage’s past. But all is not as it seems. Now the FBI are involved and it seems there may be more to this than meets the eye. But Beth feels like someone is watching her but is it just her imagination? Meanwhile trying to forget Beth Gage goes on a date but all he can do is think about her but little does he know Beth has seen him and it stirs feelings in her. And he gives Ken a hard time about being tied down with one woman but does he want the same?.
What will happen with Beth and Gage, will they continue on as friends with benefits or will they become a couple?
The book wouldn’t be complete without a cliffhanger and Leslie Johnson that will leave you wanting more.

Ashes Book 2 is a fantastic continuation in Leslie Johnson's Ashes Series. It picks up right where book one left off and it should definitely be read in order. It is a quick fun read full of suspense, great chemistry and characters that leave you wanting to read more.

Beth and Gage continue to have aversion to committed relationships. They love being strictly in the friend zone, but when a day full of fun and laughter turns into their worst nightmare, they end up turning to each other for support.

When they are both determined to go their separate ways terror strikes again. Will it be the end of everything as they know it?

I could not put this book down and book 3 cannot come out fast enough! I definitely want more of Beth and Gage!

Two books in a row, by different authors, have the guy playing the field while having a friends with benefits relationship. Poor girl is always going to have feelings and doesn't want to mess it up by talking about said feelings. Beth and Gage are finding themselves not wanting to commit to each other but somehow keep coming back to each other. Not only are these two in denial about their relationship but they stumbled upon a huge scene with bodies (hope you read Ashes 1 already). We are left on a dangerous cliffhanger again after Beth gets too curious and may have seen too much. While this series is sexy it also has me trying to solve this case with the little info we have already. A romantic suspense at it's finest. My copy was given by the author for my honest review.

I gave this book 4.5 Stars!!!

If you thought book one has twist, turns and some HOT scenes then you need to continue reading this series. I have fell in love with Beth and Gage but also with the secondary characters Stephanie and Ken. The story line is a romance but also some mystery and I absolutely love it.

A day of fun turns tragic and horror. Beth and Gage find themselves right in the middle of it. When they both decide they are back in the friend zone they are determine that they are going to get each other out of their heads.

What happens when terror strikes again. Can Gage save Beth in time?

Leslie you continue to surprise me and I never know what is coming next or how you will leave us hanging. Can't wait to read book 3.

Fighting attraction really steams from this story and makes the story flow even more. The characters open up more and you see a side to them you don't really want to but you do. The Author has once again captured my attention and held it with everything about this story from start to finish and I loved it. It's fun and really easy to follow along with and read from cover to cover. Great details and the mystery is even better the more and more the story goes on. With each thing that is learned is another puzzle pieces solved and you can tell this series is going to have a lot of them.

I absolutely love this series and can't wait for the next book to be released.... Beth and Gage are still being 'friends with benefits ' but both are getting stronger feelings for each other, will they admit this or carry one as they are.... After finding the bodies in the cave, things are starting to get a bit weird for Beth, she feels as if she is being followed. Deciding to go to a club with Steph, Beth see's Gage with another woman... what is she going to do, is she going to come clean to him or stay out the way so he can't see her. This book ends in another brilliant cliff hanger and I need to read book 3 asap, before I bite all my nails off!!!

Once again the way this one ended left me in shock! Ashes Book 2 is just as intriguing as Book 1. It's filled with even more drama and suspense. Gage and Beth are still friends with benefits though fate seems to have a different plan. One look from Beth makes Gage believe she's falling for him, so he sets out to get her off his mind. Though it isn't as easy as he thought it would be. As they continue to fight the emotions building between them, they're faced with quite a few obstacles that I never saw coming. Book 2 is fast paced and kept me wondering what was going to happen next. This is another quick read that I could not put down.

Let me start out by saying, you need to read Book 1 first. WOW! Leslie Johnson took it up a notch in Book 2. I'm 100% completely hooked to this series. Beth and Gage's emotions are running high after a horrifying discovery while having a day of fun. She's starting to realize that she's developing feelings for Gage and trusts him. He's trying to deny his developing feelings for her by sleeping with other women. The intensity is taken up in this book keeping my heart racing. Storyline is fantastic, and filled with twists and turns. The sexy scenes are still SMOKIN HOT, and have intimacy woven in. The intense cliffhanger had me all kinds of crazy, and CANNOT WAIT to read Book 3!

Leslie Johnson is amazing! I am absolutely captivated by her stories. This second installment in this series had me on the edge of my seat and I cannot wait to read what happens next. Ms. Johnson does a great job of bringing the characters to life so well that I feel like I'm in their heads seeing/hearing/feeling everything they do. I love the dual povs in this series. It helps knowing what they're both thinking at all times. I love that we get a mystery in this series too. It's got me on the edge of my seat. I need book three stat!!

Given to me for an honest review. Must read Ashes 1 first. Gabe is still on the ledge with the cave. Beth goes to call 911. Later everyone else makes it up the mountain. Definitely a serial killer. Beth finally trusts Gabe enough to have him on top and she starts thinking about more than friends with benefits. Beth thinks she sees a man near the pool and her dog runs that way barking. The gate is open and a car hits the dog. Will her dog be ok? Who was the man who ran in front of the car? Will the reporters finally leave them alone?

I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review. And honestly, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it. Ths book explains a lot of why Gage and Beth are the way they are. There is suspense from the first...gun battles, cults, dead bodies, stalkers and plenty of page scorching sex. I'm surprised my Kindle didn't melt. As always Ms. Johnson leaves you wanting more. I enjoyed the book so much I finished it in just a few hours. Buy this book ( heck , the whole series) you won't be disappointed.

5 Crazy Ass Must Read Stars!!!!!

I'm loving this series! So, I didn't stop between books to write my review. i just had to know what happened next. This picks up right where Book 1 ends and we find out how all that turns out. And then it ends, yup, you guessed it, in another cliffy.
This is one of those books that's so hard not to leave spoilers. I have so much to say about Beth & Gage but it is all spoiler riddled. So I'm not going to say anything but grab this series! You won't be disappointed.

Omg what a great read! From the moment the book starts until the very end its a roller coaster ride of emotions. Gage and Beth relationship frustrates me because you can see the intense attraction they have towards each other but they keep putting the wall back up. Can't wait for book 3. Does have a cliffhanger that has you ripping your hair out and yelling to your device 'What? Where is the rest?' Ugh but totally worth it!!!!!

Gage and Beth's story keeps getting better and better. The suspense and intrigue is high in this book. While Gage is rescuing a boy, he stumbles with a cave that has 7 bodies. The FBI warns Gage that they might encounter problems. Is someone stalking them? Will Beth and Gage realize that they are more than friends with benefits? Another great installment by Leslie Johnson.

WOW! Between the horrible scene discovered while rescuing the young boy during a hike, the poor dog getting hit by a car, and Beth's realization that she has feelings for her friend with benefits, I feel like I've been through the emotional ringer.
Leslie Johnson really nailed it with this one and left me on the edge of my seat. Once I opened this book, I couldn't put it down. Suspense and romance mixed together. I'm definitely ready for the next book.

Received as an ARC for honest review.

Holy sh*t! The horrific scene that Beth and Gage came upon! Absolutely emotional! They seem to somehow get closer, without getting more of their feelings involved. Beth and Gage don't want a relationship, they like their "friends with benefits" arrangement. There's angst, drama and tears in this one!

That seems to work for a while...then BAM! Hits you out of left field! Can't wait to see what's in store for them in the next book!

Beth and Gage both agree to a no strings attached relationship. But after their first date they share a lot of emotions and as a result can they really agree they do not care for each other. Both are stubborn and think that a night out will get them back in the game and no strings attached- but can they really go through with it? Will they realize they do care more about each other than they are letting on?

All I have to say is WOW!! Gage and Beth have encountered a tragedy while hiking. Strange things start to happen afterwards. are they in danger? Beth is falling for Gage and he is trying to control his feelings. I am hooked, I love mystery involved romances and this is one of the best I've read so far. Gage discovered the bodies of 7 women in a cave after rescuing a boy the fell part way down a cliff. Beth and Gage are caught up in the investigation by the FBI. The hiking trail was on national park land. Are the murders results of a serial killer or something else? Gage and Beth are struggling with their friends with benefits turning into something more. Highly recommend for any over 18.
