Woodrow Wyatt was originally a labour politician however by the time he started writing his diaries he had moved very much to the right. His diary paints a picture of a man who seems to have been popular with the prime minister of the time, Margaret Thatcher. Not sure if he is building his part up as some of the diaries indicate a bit of a Walter Mitty tendency. I have the other two volumes of the diaries to read so will explore this further.
