This is a very sad, disturbing read. Written by Julie's father himself it recounts his long expensive fight to discover the truth of what happened to her in Kenya and bring her killers to light. The book was written in 1991, but it seems even now, 22 years later, he is still battling to find the truth. It really is a reality check for anyone looking to travel off the beaten track in Africa.
A really good, very hard-to-put-down read. The author sets out to investigate his daughter's death on his own after being told she probably committed suicide while on a dream vacation in Kenya, an answer that was then inexplicably changed to "the wild animals killed her" when clearly nothing of the sort happened. It's a remarkable testament to what a person can accomplish without the help of the duly constituted authorities; but it also makes clear how many people need to help and cooperate to bring the answers out into the daylight. Well worth a look.
