This was Celeste's 2nd book and was written shortly after her brother, David's, death. Her parents had sent her on a tennis cruise to help her grieve and while doing this activity, which was pretty much out of her element, she met "people who just had to be characters in a book". She adapted Shakespeare's "The Tempest" and thus "Suffer A Sea Change" was born. She hadn't yet discovered her real love - historical fiction. Soon she was to try her had at that genre, with which she fell in love.

Enjoy Suffer A Sea Change for what it is and then keep reading her work.

An epic sweeping story that covers many years but also makes the story feel close and intimate without feeling small. I highly recommend pretty much everything this author writes because she has a wonderful style.

humm ... good story line, good plot, some great characters, BUT ...

awfully confusing book at times! the writing was written as if i already knew half the background needed, only, i did NOT know it!

i kept wondering if this was a sequel to some prior book, but ...

alas, it was not. when i confirmed that for sure, then i had someone else read parts of the book. they ALSO couldn't follow.

it wasn't me, it wasn't us ... it was just a book that's written in a VERY confusing manner!

Different from her other books. I did not enjoy it as much as her others.

Loved it...great mystery and romance. I think this was the only contemporary romance Celeste wrote, but I really enjoyed it. Now, I'll have to get it out and re-read it!
