While there were countless sound, Biblical truths throughout the book, I found it hard to get past her condemnation of medicine to treat behavioral disorders, long-term psychiatric counseling, and the effectiveness of working mothers. As a working mom who spent years on anti-depressants, and saw a counselor regularly during that time, her remarks came across rather callous and condescending. The truths that she wrote seemed hollow once I’d lost trust in her as a narrator.

This was written by a woman, so you have to remember she may not reach you if you are of the male gender. I found this book enlightening enough to recommend to others that I thought it might have an impact on. It brought me out of a very angry situation and my copy is now highlighted and comments written on many of the pages. If you have an issue, or think you might, take the chance and read this. You many not agree with some things, but I think you will at least find parts you can relate to. It may change something for you, I hope it does.
