Yuokai Gakuen has been repaired and the new semester is underway. Tsukune and gang are back, and more powerful then ever. Anti-Thesis's true identity is relieved. With new adversaries looming on the horizon, and something much more sinister then the gang has ever faced before.
Akihisa Ikeda (池田晃久) is a manga artist/manga-ka best known for the manga series Rosario + Vampire (ロザリオとバンパイア Rosario to Vampire). He's been a huge fan of vampires and monsters since he was a little kid. He says one of the perks of being a manga artist is being able to go for walks during the day when everybody else is stuck in the office.
You think things could just be normal for once at school for Tsukune, but it just got a lot worse when a band of dangerous thieves appeaered in the school attacking random students. As members of the Newspaper Club the Tsukune and the gang were on the look out for anything out of the ordinary until both Tsukune and Moka were taken as well by the thieves as well. Fine out and see what happens in this best selling book of Rosario+Vampire season II.
The second season of the series is interesting because: while Tsukune plays the major role, all of the other characters play much more prominent roles in each volume. We are getting to see a good bit of some characters past, and why they are the way they are.
I'm really loving this series overall. It's fun, light, and packed full of action! Sure, it gets a bit goofy and immature at times and it sexualizes women a fair amount, but it's at least entertaining.
There's a LOT more fighting in this book! I really liked how it kept my attention all the way. For a second book in the second series, it did a good job pulling the audience back in. Brava!
This book gets extra bonus points too because Tsukune isn't really in the lead anymore. He's still around and important, but the girls get to kick way more butt!
I hope the rest of the series keeps up this engaging story-telling. It's a shame they didn't make a third series... Maybe we'll get lucky!
Rosario+vampire is a good akuma based manga. It has a good art style and a good plot line. The akuma concept is good and very entertaining. Characters are good and interesting. The second season of rosario brings more plot, characters and twist. Very entertaining and darker than the first season.
The issues I had in the first Season II volume 1 have lessened going into this next volume. My actual rating for this volume specifically is a 4.5 / 5 stars up from the 4 stars I gave S2V1. It has a couple good action chapters, it has some Iffy elements that prevent it from being a real 5 Star read, but it ends in a cute and fun way that welcomes Koko to the group. Like S2V1 where the tentacle stuff came out of nowhere after re-reading S1, this volume goes the similar route but this time with Kid bodies and that just takes a point away for me personally. I know those are growing pains of the anime and start of the newer season that has less focus moving towards vol. 4-14 but for my re-read binge so far it’s jarring until we move past it.
The exploration into Kokoas character, Mokas childhood and the friendship between Kokoa and Yukari were nice and all, but this volume was largely fluff with no plot. And fan service and basically pedophillia. Left me feeling disgusted and disappointed.
Pretty cool brawl with some cool monster designs but still kind of ends lack luster with some forced comedy with Yukari and Kokoa. But still hopeful that it becomes better.
This one is all about school clubs and what happens when Yukari makes magic candy. I like that we get to see her doing witchy stuff again. Where is Gin though???
First half was really good and exciting, the other chapters were cute but too fluffy and lacked any real advancement to the plot but I did enjoy seeing more of Koko.
4.5/5 The story continues the mistaken phantom plot from volume one for the first two chapters. The combat is actually more amusing than usual. There’s comedy thrown into it, and this is the first time in Season II that we see Tsukune’s transformation.
I think the second half of the book is the best part. These two chapters focus heavily on Koko, which is fitting since she is on the cover of this volume. She befriends Yukari, which is not that surprising since they aren’t that far apart in age. They seem to have a lot in common.
It’s club recruitment time again, and Koko wants to get stronger She debates which club to join, which leads to various shenanigans. Koko is insistent on not joining the news club, even though she doesn’t have a good reason. These two chapters are adorable and funny. They revolve around Yukari and Koko wanting to grow up because they are tired of being considered young and small.
The four panel bonus comics in back of the book also focus on Koko. The first two highlight how blatantly tsundere she is, and the other two are about her pet Batty. He is unexpectedly heavy.
This is not relevant to the story, but I love how all the people in Moka’s family seem to be named after drinks. Moka. Koko. Kahlua. We don’t meet Kahlua in this volume, but her name comes up in a flashback.
Volume two of Season two is such a enjoyable read! I much prefer it to the previous volume as there really isn’t any filler chapters. The first half of this read is a continuation of the Phantom Attacker plot. And although the villains are hard to like, their powers are fascinating! The Ground Spider images are haunting and creepy while the other is a Doppelgänger and can copy the appearance and power of anyone her touches. I really enjoyed the battles in this plot and how it all unfolds. The second half then concentrated on Yukari and Koko and their question to not only be stronger and get Moka’s love, but to be more mature and adult. So they end up taking “Gro-Gro Drops” which have some unexpected effects on them. This storyline is actually quite sweet and had me smiling by the end of this book. Hopefully this series will only continue to get better from here! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Tsukune and Moka and the gang that come to their rescue get caught by a doppelganger and a giant spider demon. Tsukune ghouls out and shows his friends that he is far more dangerous than the enemies that have them captured.
The second arc centres around Moka's sister Koko who eats some magical candy to make her instantly grown up in order to defeat some school bullies. The effects wear off in 13 minutes though, but instead of reverting back to her normal self she becomes a little child.
Stunning artwork and a great fun story make this volume as much of a delight as the rest of the series.
Spoilers! : Boobs! Well that was surprising - the series has added more fan service pantie shots over its run, but I didn't expect full on boobage, especially from a main character (well, a male enemy shape-shifted into the form of one of the female characters, but still), not complaining, but it come totally out of the blue.
Other than that, another solid entry in the series. Funny, good character development, and a lot of action.
