As Campanella Frühling’s train speeds on, bearing disaster to the Underground and its denizens, Bishop gives Heine more clues to his past. But the aims of Bishop, who wears his own “collar,” are unclear: why is he revealing these things now, and why did he save Heine in the first place? Meanwhile, Badou takes on another freelance job from Granny Liza to gather information—and soon discovers it was the information that his brother died pursuing…
4.5 stars. Damn, this really got good towards the end. I was literally leaning forward for the last 2 volumes and holding my breath for a few pages.
I was pretty skeptical of how Badou was gonna to get out of that situation alive, I was certain I was going to have to suspend my disbelief, but they actually made it work. I think the Conductor has such a grandiose personality and just enough pompous jackassery for that to have happened. He's so busy concentrating, absolutely sure that no one could foil his plan, thinking he's got all the time in the world to draw this out just to 'play with his food' and then at the last second. Brilliant.
I think the world building is really starting to take off and the plotlines and characters are slowly converging, for the most part pretty believably (although I thought Mimi got off far too easily, but I really like her so that's fine with me). I'm very much enjoying this world and everyone's personality quirks. Onto the next one!!!
This picks up with the aftermath of the train disaster and it is mostly Badou’s story. We learn more about what his brother was hunting down and why he died, how Badou lost his eye and how it might link up with Naoto and Heine’s lives. Naoto and Heine are mostly in the background this time, though Heine does have it out a bit with the blind priest Bishop who disappears (I would have liked a few action scenes cut and more explanation of this relationship). The crime boss who had part of his face bitten off by Heine is back and out to get Heine and Badou and the evil organization that turned Heine into what he is, is on the move. It ends in a cliffhanger with Badou finally meeting the man behind the child kidnappings that have been happening since issue 0 (I think) and was the person who hurt Badou so badly. And since the next one won’t be out until April of next year, I will forget it all. It’s a violent manga but it has a cohesive and interesting plot. I like this one.

Zaczyna się porządna rozpierducha, ciekawe jak to się dalej potoczy.
*To będzie wspólna opinia do całej serii, chyba że któryś tom czymś się wyróżni w przyszłości*
Mroczna i brutalna. Klimat gangów, podziemia i barku skrupułów. Świat i państwa właściwie nie istnieją. Gwałtowa i interesująca, a przedewszytkim jest dla mnie świetną odskocznią, bo jest totalnie inna niż to co ostatnio czytałam.
