It is an anthology of already acclaimed short stories. But, many brilliant writers are not there in it. Like Italo Calvino. Black sheep should've been there in this. It isn't there.

my love for short stories developed way back to my yester years of primary classes when a temporary english teacher wove a magical world of stories...since then its been part of my adult wanderlust.
i was familiar with the works of Anton Chekhov, Tagore, saki etc..and who can forget the Hans Andersen...so it was no surprise that after ten years, i am still enthralled by their 'magic'.in addition, i am introduced to other writers of equal caliber in creating the magic...tsk tsk..i cant remember their names!!!!!
through this book i made my journey to the suburbs of England accompanying a boy to his real life encounters with dead writers and poets, felt the anguish of a woman who loses an necklace and slaves to repay back. then i was also cheering for a Russian farmer to mark as much land as he can and was part of the abuses by the makers of crackles.i became the father who murders his own son for he is not worth of a man and felt the spiritual uplifting of a buddhist turned woman. i took part in a duel which happened again after ten years and felt that first crush of a solider in a kiss..does being on honeymoon means falling in love all over again, that too on deeper level...finally what can i say about the little mermaid??? she is an embodiment of goodness representing the mysteries in the sea....
wait...there's still more....

happy reading
