I read this out loud (while translating on the fly) to my firstborn (5y). She seemed to enjoy it, but didn't grasp all the subtler sillinesses.
In short: from rags to riches to rags again, in the Hollywood fashion.

Broadway Chicken is a poultry-centered parody of the classic Hollywood rags-to-riches tale. Charlie is a chicken who is kept in an arcade game, where he loves to dance and perform for the public. It isn't long before a talent scout discovers him.

Although this is a picture book, the wee ones may have some difficulty grasping the type of story this book parodies.
