I really liked the concepts in this book that made for interesting thoughts and discussion, such as an inner child, true self, and then a false adult self that we have built over slights or abuses from parents or others. I think that the author sometimes makes wounds too much about the parents, and not enough about the harshness of many influences of childhood, but anyway, I do buy into the fact that many of us carry insecurities and false beliefs around from a young age. The thoughts on filling our love buckets was interesting and also that we must do so with help of God and our own true inner child. I did start to lose focus about the time he recommends writing to your inner child. I may try it, but it just seems a little strange. This is a good read for someone interested in why you or others are the way you are, and how to find an inner source of love for yourself.

I'm rereading this book because I keep getting more out of it. The author has amazingly helpful ideas about life like "Negative thought detection, Positive thought selection." Kinda catchy, eh? But it's incredible what understanding and applying this concept can do. Also, I learned healthy ways to pursuit relationships with others (need them because I love them, not the other way around. And share from my fullness, etc). The ideas in this book have helped me in countless aspects of my life. With his tools, one can have a lot better and more meaningful relationships, more happiness in life and better ability to pursue what they want. If this book is hard for you to read as it was for me (I'm not so great with self-help books), the author also has his lectures on CD (which helped me tons!). But they are really expensive. I wasn’t about to pay that price so I borrowed the CD’s from a friend, but after I listened to them I decided to buy them so I could share what I learned with my close friends and family. My whole outlook on life changed and hope abounded. The CD’s don’t necessarily cover more material than the book, but through the hours of lectures (about 25) during which he is really entertaining and explains in better details the concepts he presents, I was able to understand and apply what I learned into my own life. I've worked personally with Dr. Sterling G. Ellsworth for a year now, and read his book all the way through at least once. His teachings have been IMMENSELY helpful in my journey to overcome anxiety, insecurity, and depression. He teaches how to heal from your past, organize your thoughts, heal relationships, and be your healthy "real" self. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone that wants to live a life more full of love, confidence, and healthy relationships!

This is a great book! I recomend it to anyone trying to "remember" who they are and what their purpose is in life... This is more of a journey... I finished a month ago and am still contemplating and figuring out how it all applies to my life... Life changer.
