For the last 150 years, both popular and academic views have asserted that Jesus spoke Aramaic as his primary language of communication since supposedly Hebrew died out after the children of Israel were taken into Babylonian captivity. This view, however, is not based on the testimony of the Old Testament, the New Testament, historical sources, or Jesus’ actual words. Discovering the Language of Jesus examines those sources to resolve the debate. Hopefully the reader will find this book to be more than simply intellectually interesting, but will also be convinced that every detail in God’s word is accurate, reliable and worthy of our trust.

The author makes a strong case for Hebrew

I enjoyed reading “The Language of Jesus,” the author’s argument on the side of Hebrew usage has made me really think. I had, along with many others, thought that Aramaic was the main language.

I am now on the Hebrew side of the discussion. My only fault with this book, the kindle version, is that the Hebrew words are written from left to right. Which makes no sense to the reader until you see the transliterations.
