Submissive Calvin is trying to hide his disappointment from his Master as he helps him prepare to go to work. Sure that Remington has forgotten the significance of the day Calvin is surprised when he's told to wait until his Master leaves for work before going to get his present.
This short story, 20 pages only, is a free read offered at Total-E-Bound and was very enjoyable. Calvin and Remington are obviously living a full D/s lifestyle and while the total obedience Calvin displays may not be for everyone it is a well written, entertaining and quite sexy story.
By the end of the story it's quite obvious that Remington went to great pains to make this a special day for his sub. I really liked the characters and even though the story length makes it hard to get a real sense of their relationship it seems to be a loving one.
While this is a D/s story there is no big scene, no spankings or paddling. Instead it offers really sexy toy play and a hot sex scene between a Master and his sub. I only wish the story were longer and that I'd been able to download it to read it on my Sony. Other than that this is a very enjoyable story. Thanks Kim and Total-E-Bound for the holiday present.

The love and trust between Calvin and his Master is palpable in this short story, and the sketched-out memories were great not only because they allowed me to get to know these two really well, but also because they added so many emotions to the picture. The barley 20 pages definitely felt like a lot longer story because of that!
Calvin is very insecure, but he is totally determined to be the best sub he can be for Remington. Calvin loves his master with all his heart an would do anything to make him happy - but he sometimes forgets that he has feelings as well, and while he tries to ignore them as best he can, his Master sees them and believes they are worthy of recognition. Calvin may struggle with that, but after a year of wearing the man's collar, he also knows he has no choice. As hard as it is for him, when he finally hands over the last piece of control to Remington, the reward is immediate.
Remington is as enamored with Calvin as his sub is with him. He also knows Calvin extremely well, and can read his every desire. Whether or not he acts upon any of that is up to him as the Master, of course, but he isn't cruel and always keeps Calvin's well-being top of mind. I loved the way he planned the celebration of Calvin's collaring, and the rising heat between them was wonderful to watch.
If you like BDSM stories with men who clearly love each other deeply, if you enjoy reading about bondage, kink, and submission, and if you're looking for a short, hot read that will make you think you read a much loner book, then you will probably like this free story.

D/s stories are not really my thing, but this one was surprisingly sweet and sexy.

Calvin is an obedient submissive and strives to make his master, Remington, happy. He can't help but be a little pouty when his master doesn't seem to remember the 1st anniversary of his collaring.
This was an interesting story, although the whole D/s genre is not really my speed. I don't mind a little domination, but the whole "Master" scenario, especially when it's not a scene, but a 24/7 role is not something I can really get into.
But it was interesting to read nonetheless and I appreciate that Kim Dare provided it as a free story.

This book is hot enough to melt the foot of snow building around my house, but it's really sweet as well.
I love the way it focuses more on memories and feelings (as well as toy play) between the two.

I found this after reading the author's Hot Summer Days story. What a treat. Super hot, and yet laced with so much history of these two loving and trusting and caring for each other. Will definitely read more by this author.

Totally loved everything about this little short! When a Master/Dom totally knows what their sub is thinking/feeling and can think “stunning” when they see that person submitting so beautifully to every instruction, it sends shivers down my spine. Calvin and Remington are a perfect pair, and Kim Dare did an outstanding job of grabbing me and pulling me right into their scene. Awesome!
