As a self-confessed Bibliomaniac and a Floridian who loves road trips, this one is a must have; a natural fit. If you're looking for a list of new/used bookstores, this is *not* the book for you. Reading like a novel, it is a tale of many sites of literary interest, broken down geographically, and also by genre. Regional authors are given coverage, some quite extensive. As expected, Zora Neal Hurston, Harry Crews, Marjory Kinnan Rawlings and Hemingway are given more than ample coverage. The index is very thorough, allowing the reader to find specific authors, cities, etc. Cross references can be made logically; in general, the index is very user friendly. The research Kevin M. McCarthy devoted to this labor of love pays dividends to the reader.
Exhaustively researched, but unfortunately stops at about 1993 when the book was published. I wish they'd re-issue it to reflect the last fifteen years.
