Beautiful and inspiring! I enjoyed reading about Monet's garden and seeing all the photos of his beautiful wonderland that inspired his art. Adding the garden layouts was a great feature and all the photos in the book were so lovely to look at. I am looking forward to using the book as a reference for my own sketches and paintings!

Another wonderful book about Impressionist Gardens. There are gorgeous pictures of present gardens and wonderful Impressionist paintings to exemplify how these artists viewed the flowers, or the gardens, or how they planned their gardens. Some of the subjects included are Color and Light, The Influence of Japan, Favorite Flowers, and Meadows, Orchards, and Woodland to name a few. The Impressionist artists never tired of flowers or their gardens. Perhaps the most famous artists of garden painting are Monet, Renoir, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Caillebotte, and Hassam. Derek Fell has also shown the reader how he has planned his garden at Cedaridge.
This is a book that you'll go back and enjoy over and over.
