Bought for me by my dad for Christmas - the subtitle "all the skills you need to launch your writing career" may be a rather unsubtle hint. I zipped through it (admittedly I have been sick and doing little else but reading) and am filled with new ambition to write, and work through the exercises. Now I just need to make that feeling last!
Def recommended. Covers different genres of writing and includes a brief version of the Guardian style book. It's not an alternative to the Writers' and Artists' Yearbook (or equivalent)if you're looking for a comprehensive description of publishers, but a great--and cheaper--start for a serious writer.
