To argue from authority is most appropriate in this teaching inasmuch as its principles are received through revelation, and thus it must be believed on the authority of those to whom the revelation was given. Nor does this detract from the dignity of this teaching, for although an argument from authority based on human reason is the weakest of all, nevertheless an argument from authority based on divine revelation is the most powertul of all.
