Since its publication in 2001, You Are My I Love You has sold half a million copies worldwide and given voice to the unique love parents feel for their children. Now the creators of this modern classic reunite to honor the special bond between grandparent and grandchild, the one of passing along tradition, joyful spoiling, nurturing imagination, and pure adoration. Whether it's the sharing of stories or romping horsey rides, silly tickle fights or lazy fishing trips, there's truly nothing like it. With touching, heartfelt words and warm, playful illustrations, Maryann Cusimano Love and Satomi Ichikawa shine their spotlight on this unique relationship.
An excellent example of how to use semi-colons correctly, You Are My Wish is every bit as delightful as its prequel You Are My I Love You, and a perfect lap read with the little loved one in your life.
I adore the simplicity of sentences like, 'I am your buttons; you are my ticklish belly.' Like an illustrated poem, You Are My Wish would be a good spring board for a poetry-writing exercise in the classroom: I am your...; you are my....
A beautiful picture book with watercolor illustrations by Satomi Ichikawa; the relationship between a grandparent and a grandchild in "balanced metaphors"--I am your wise face You are my new tooth smile. It is beautifully charming. I especially liked the purple shades in the grandmother's clothing.
"You are my wish" is a sweet book about grandparent and her grandchild and what her grandchild means to her. Good book to read to toddlers. Its about a grandparent and grandchild relationship. It is in pattern, good for phonological awareness.
This sweet book took me about 10 minutes to read. It has adorable poem prose writing, linking younger and older generations. I am a Mom, and I still found it endearing. The illustrations are cheery and whimsical at the same time. I love it!!!
Though the grandma/grandchild relationship has been explored many times in this format, this book is just abstract enough to stay fresh and new, yet sweet and simple enough for small children.
book about the loving bond of a grandparent and grandchild. it uses metaphors to describe a beautiful relationship, some are a bit of a stretch. Similar to first book "You are my I Love You"
My least favorite of the 3. This one is about the grandparent-grandchild relationship. There are only a few good lines. The rest doesn't make as much sense as the other books in the series.
Got this from a friend to read to my grandson. We both really had a good time reading it (ok I did and he didn't scream....hence a good time). I think we will be reading this a lot. Thanks, Susie.
