Have you ever been frightened by strange noises and things that go bump in the night? Never again! You will receive a clear understanding of the evil entities that inhabit the spirit realm and what you can do to drive their unwanted activity out of your life!
Absolute Rubbish! Roberts Liardon couldn’t properly handle Scripture if his life depended upon it. In the introduction he insists that he is going to look first and foremost at what the Bible teaches about demons and so on. Sounds good. However, the reality is that the boom is full of made-up stories from the usual heretical sources.
As for his handling of the Word of God, it is abysmal. To quote Chris Rosebrough of Pirate Christian Radio, “the three keys to sound biblical interpretation are context, context and context”. It is my sincere hope that Mr Liardon would learn this, repent of his sin and seek the mercy and grace of God in Jesus Christ. For example, he quotes from Ezekiel chapter 28 and Isaiah chapter 14 to give descriptions of the devil. However, when we actually look at the context we will quickly note that the prophecy in Ezekiel 28 is about the King of Tyre, and the prophecy in Isaiah 14 is about the King of Babylon (contra NKJV). This has NOTHING to do with the devil!
He also puts in little references like, ‘see James1:16-17’ (p.24). Liardon claims (falsely) that this teaches us about not taking the accolades of others too seriously. Like a broken clock, he is occasionally correct, though James 1:16-17 has absolutely nothing to say about this.
Do yourself a favour, don’t buy or read this book. If you have a copy my genuine advice is to bin or burn it!
