MUST BE VIEWED ON TABLET OR LARGER SCREEN. For readers who know books. Hours of things to do with this 1. Read the story. Enjoy Pirate’s adventures and the child’s imaginings, 2. Before reading the answer, try to guess the source of the smell from the close-up pictures that represent Pirate’s viewpoint. 3. Write and draw your answer to the question about Pirate’s last adventure. 4. At the back of the book, you will find a list of well-known books, classic and recent. Look for images or words on the cloud-framed pages of this story that remind you of the books listed. 5. Find 68 gingerbread men. 6. Read the books listed. They're great!
Bonnie Ferrante is a hybrid writer (publishing traditionally and self-publishing). She was a grade school teacher for thirty-three years, ten as teacher-librarian. She has received three OAC grants for her writing. She has recently entered the field of self-publishing and is greatly enjoying illustrating her own picture books although this becomes more difficult as her Parkinson's Disease progresses. Bonnie also has a Youtube site. "Welcome parents, teachers, and kids to my safe youtube site. Kids can listen to a book being read or a story being told, learn about words and numbers, and sing along. Adults can watch a book trailer and find new ways to teach your children using inexpensive materials, active learning, and the outdoors."
A fun book for kids. The two thought process of what we think the cat has been up to vs what he really did. Interesting drawings and nicely interactive for kids.
