Kyle Busch is one of the most controversial drivers in NASCAR. Many fans and teammates love him for his ability to win and his straightforward personality. What many do not know is that he also runs a foundation to help underprivileged kids, in addition to volunteering his time to assist charities run by other NASCAR drivers.
I am studying for a PhD in Physical Cultural Studies with the University of Maryland's Kinesiology Department. I take classes, conduct research per my independent study, and work as a teacher's assistant.
I have written books aimed at preteens, including sports biographies and special topics, for Red Line Editorial (2006-present). I also composed a couple of reports for the NPR affailiate WFAE-FM in Charlotte, and wrote features for the regional monthly Charlotte Magazine (2009-2010).
During the 2009 NFL season, I wrote a fantasy football blog and covered the Carolina Panthers for the professional blog site SB Nation (2009 season).
