High level California gardening; surprised they didn't have a succulent section, but a good high level format for ideas for gardening. A good reference.
There are few plants that this book recommends which I more or less despise (as much as one can despise a plant, I suppose). Overall though, the garden ideas, photography, and plant suggestions were all pretty solid. I also really liked the layout and design of the book and would have to say that it is probably the only gardening books which I actually read cover to cover.
As a new resident of California, I found this book extremely helpful in identifying plants that are already in my yard, as well as for researching plants to add to our garden!
