Special Task Force agent Alexei Night has had a crush on Interstellar Council Representative Briana Michaels ever since the first time he saw her on the vid comm. But their lives are worlds apart. He's a vampire. She's not. There's no possibility of a relationship between them. Yet he still dreams of her.
When Briana's unpopular position supporting vampiric rights threatens her family, Alex leaps at the chance to protect her and be with her. It's a two-week journey to her homeworld, and he'll spend it making love with the woman he can't keep, trying to get enough of her to last an eternity. Their erotic connection is easily established but their bond doesn't overshadow the danger surrounding Briana. A hopeless romance with a woman whose mortal life is threatened. Things can't get any worse for Alex. And then somehow they do.

This was a well-done shorter type read. I really liked both of the characters. Love scenes were awesome in a passionate sense and not over the top erotica. Alex was romantic, possessive, and protective...and very yummy(; Bree was a great female lead...she didn't do the whole "doubting the hero" thing. She didn't believe that Alex had betrayed her. That is so refreshing. Enjoyed this more than Carnal Thirst #1.
Lots of sexytimes, two MCs who are hiding secrets of their own and a assassination plot that changed their lives. Alex Night is a hunky vamp, a tough agent posing as a smuggler/criminal and a romantic. He falls deeply in love with Bree Michaels, a human, politician and a woman who happens to love romance stories. She hired him to transport her to her home planet but of course lots of things happen during their travel there.
Bree's character as a vamp-rights politician is as convincing as Denise Richards was as a nuclear weapons expert in that particular James Bond movie. Alex as an ex-con vamp turned secret agent also seem a bit too emotional. The only character that is believable is the sex-bot/PA James (and how i wish i have one...my daily schedule would be so efficiently organized...ehem). Nonetheless, the story is hot and interesting enough albeit short. Also it made me wonder the acrobatics involved in vamp sex as described in the story.
I am not really into vampire erotica but I did like this one. I also thought it was better than the first part. You could get away with reading this first as it is a completely different story.
I liked this one a lot more than the first one. This one felt like there was a little more to unpack and figure out. You got to know more details about Alexei and Briana but it felt like there was some holding back and disconnections. In the first book, the characters were entwined and connected more whereas this one took longer for it to happen. I admire that Alexei didn’t want to lose control with her because he really cared about her. However, you can’t help but wonder what could have happened if he actually did lose control in the beginning. I believe he wouldn’t have hurt her. It would have been interesting to see if you can claim someone as yours while they are human or if it only works when the other person is a vampire too. I would have liked to see this option explored in the book but other than that, I really enjoyed it.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Unlike the first novelette in this series, which I finished a day before, this one actually has about 75% of the action NOT occurring on a bed.
Once again, it’s vampires and spaceships and sex, in a short read (90 min) that is not terrible, except for the ending, which could be a poster child for deus ex machina and the hashtag #DonateToPreventThisFromHappeningAgain.
In a nutshell, vampire starship pilot is hired to fly hot female senator home. Boinking ensues. I can’t believe I read the second, and hopefully last, longish short story in the series. I will add this author to my #NeverMore list and continue searching for more vampires in space.
I really enjoyed this book. ( I know, I'm so late to the party) I think I liked the first one just a little bit more but anyhow I found it entertaned and so loving. As well as with the other one I would of liked just a little fight scene somewhere. I just loved the characters a lot. The sotry as a whole I though maybe it would had worked better if it was a little bit longer (page wise) but the rest was great
While I loved the first book in the series , this book was just IT for me. Alexei and Briana were intense, and steamier than what I thought was even possible. They were a couple that I enjoyed reading about every second of the book, and I only wish there was more to read.
Alas, the space vampires left me cold. This one has more plot and less sex then the first installment but still the too-rapid/unearned emotional developments. And, unfortunately, the mystery’s solution was obvious from the beginning of the story. No twist.
I was attempting to get into this one, only to realize I've already read it at some point. I'm not gonna rate it because I don't recall much about it, but I'm not big on re-reads, so I'll move on.
Not my favorite Day book. The story telling was rushed and abbreviated, and even the sex scenes felt like a "quickie". Her writing greatly improved in her later books.
This is book #2 of Carnal Thirst and it is better than the first one. Alexei on a special mission to keep Council Rep. Briana Michaels out of harms way. Soon as the meet someone tries to kill her but she is no dummy, she fights back but is stopped by Alexei from getting injured. She has sex bot that Alexei hates and shuts down every chance he gets. This was more funny than it was serious and the sex was hot!!!! No it didn't involve the sex bot (get your minds out of the collective gutter people). It is definitely worth reading if you like erotica/romance novels. LOVED IT!!
Special agents and politicians, sci fi and paranormal. This book was going for sexy and mysterious and although I think it got there, there was a little something missing that I can’t put my finger on.
Special Task Force Alexei Night is assigned the task of getting information out of Interstellar Councilwoman Briana Michaels. She’s human and has always expressed her views of vampire rights. But now there’s pressure to make her change things to protect her family. Alexei, being a vampire, is passing for a bad guy and a thief and offering to be her transportation.
Their attraction is instant and when he should be gathering information, he’s looking for ways to get her naked. What these two had was explosive sexual chemistry. Their mind connection was nice as well, but I think I was missing something to find their love real in the end.
I do enjoy how Ms. Day does sci fi, it’s not overdone with crazy out there creatures and wars. Just a touch of planet travel and assistant robots.
For the short amount of time the author had to develop the characters, I can say that I got a good feeling for who they were and I got to like them! Especially Alex, who is completely alpha male delicious.
This being the last one in this series, I’ll now have to move on to another one of Ms. Day’s series.
I'm really not sure what to think of this book other than I could of been wasting my time doing something other than read it. Okay maybe I'm being mean, but I'd like to think the story would draw me in and this one didn't. The android for a personal secretary....ugh.... I read this book before book one, so maybe I needed to read book one. I love most of Mrs Day's books but this one must of been an earlier one because I don't see her usual style.
I really enjoyed this book even though I didn't read the first book. I was really craving some more Sylvia Day after reading, Bared to you, which was amazing! and so this book will not disappoint. It's very sexy, the protagonists deliver some intense scenes. It is very fast pace so have your next book line up as you will finish this one extremely fast!
The author knows how to spin an exciting, interesting plot with awesome characters and steamy love scenes. This is a must buy book because once you start reading it; you won't be able to put it down because it's just that awesome? Love reading about vampires so keep them coming.
So what's an immortal vampire and young human woman to do when her life is threatened. Have passionate sex with her would-be rescuer, of course;) Hot scenes, testosterone filled vamps, betrayal and a HEA. Not bad.
I liked this one better than the first one, but still not enough to give it 3 stars. I don't really know what to write about it, except that the story is just not that interesting and the love scenes don't make up for it.
I've read very few PNR, haven't decided if I'm a fan, but I'm a big Sylvia Day fan, that's for sure. It's a short story with a lot of steam and things happening really fast. But since I'm a fan, I enjoyed it regardless.
I loved this story. It showed so much emotion between the two people. So beautiful, I literally almost cried when I read the really bad part. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to read an action packed romance novel. Mrs. Day is a fantastic writer.
