Blessed Trinity #6

The Truth Is The Light

Rate this book
A Blessed Trinity Novel

The newest member of Followers of Jesus Faith Worship Center stirs up more troubles than blessings when he decides to rededicate his life to God...

As the son of a well-known minister, Clarence Walker knows his decision to leave his father's flock and join Pastor George Landris's mega-church ministry is a controversial one. But little does he suspect it will ignite a firestorm of revelations that will shake the heart of the congregation--and his very own family...

From a long-buried secret that will bring the paternity of not one, but two women, to light, to a parishioner whose long awaited love match may be thwarted by resistance from an unexpected source, hidden truths are coming to the surface. But most shocking of all is that Clarence's own father, Reverend Marshall Walker, may not be the pious figure he claims to be. And since evidence of his transgressions lies in the hands of his arch nemesis, it's only a matter of time before Reverend Walker's life--and his church--falls like a house of cards.

Perceptive, moving, and emotional, Vanessa Davis Griggsonce againcelebrates church life with its triumphs, tragedies, and all-too-human mistakes--proving that without truth, there can be no light...

PRAISE FOR VANESSA DAVIS GRIGGS

"Vanessa's rich stories of faith in action always hit the writing trifecta--they make you laugh, cry, and yearn for more."
--Angela Benson, National Bestselling Author

"Vanessa's books are fascinating, full of wisdom, occasional humor, [and] a little romance."
--Cheryl Robinson, author of Sweet Georgia Brown

"A smart novel that addresses an issue that many in the church shy away from--divorce--with frank realism ...[and] characters who are refreshingly (for inspirational fiction) imperfect."
--Library Journal on Practicing What You Preach

Deception at its best...who is really serving the Father of the Light, or Father of Deception as quoted by Rev. Walker (page 65). Do people realize they could be serving the wrong Master themselves but instead they prefer to point the finger at someone else, also known as the Pharisee spirit!

This is a wholesome story, with characters and able to get a glimpse of their realities. The author writes with such compassion, slight sense of humor, and definitely shines God's glory within the characters in the story and those who read it!

So many enriching and valuable lessons taken from this book, even underlined and starred those pages. Here is one: Reading the best part in a novel, from Luke 5:5, asking How many of you are doing something today that know God told you to do? How many of you look at what you've been told to do and wonder if you're crazy to either do it or keep doing it when it doesn't look like it's working out the way you envisioned when you began it? We say, 'Come on God. Can I get a break?' (page 148-151, The Truth is the Light by Vanessa Davis Griggs)...it gets better as you read these pages!

Gabrielle Mercedes is still dating Zachary (Dr. Z), and they make a trip to meet his parents and to get reacquainted with Miss Crowe, her original dance instructor who is also Zachary's aunt. Meanwhile, Gabrielle has some unexpected house guests that will test her faith.
Gramps is about to turn 100, and his family is determined to celebrate with style. In true Vanessa Davis Griggs form! there's are a few surprises and more secrets revealed.
I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next installment, The Other Side of Goodness.

Lawd!!!!!!
Ooh wee! This book was so good! This book drew out so many emotions for me.

First off, aunt Rachel! I wanted to slap her myself! I had to remind myself this is a book! I was silently praying Gabrielle would cuss her out 1 time! But that ain't God's way.

Then Leslie. Mother don't always know best. That was so manipulative!

Now this whole family thing has so many different twists and turns. Every time you think they got to the bottom of who's who, some more information pops up! Lawd, but that party for Gramps was awesome!

I'm loving this series. Just simply awesome!

As always Ms. Davis-Griggs did not fail to bring another fantastic story in this addition in the Blessed Trinity series.

I loved it!

I took my time reading it because I wanted to stretch it out. I couldn't take it anymore and had to finish it. It was fantastic, with all of its plot-twists and surprises. As always I love the characters, the sermons during the church scenes, and the themes. This is a wonderful piece of Christian fiction.

One of my favorites in this series...Vanessa Davis Griggs did not fail to keep my attention...I finished this book in two nights (80% the first night)...This book seemed to tell a great story and tie up the lose ends at the same time without feeling rushed or forced. I wished I got more info as to what happens to Reverend Walker.

Family is a central topic...God's blessings are showered thoughout and characters have to face the consequences of their actions.

Bottom line a good book.

I loved this book and how Vanessa was able to enlighten that it does not matter where you serve but as long as you are truly serving the Lord that whatever the Lord has for you will be brought to Light.
