The funniest dialogue!!! Ups and downs for a Jewish woman’s life after divorce. Quick fun read despite the topic.

I'm a sucker for books about women who change their lives when life takes an unexpected left turn. Maggie, after many years as Harold's loyal wife, finds out that Harold has betrayed her. She also finds out, after many gallons of ice cream that Harold never was anything more than a self-absorbed scumsucker. During the course of this novel Maggie even learns how to stop letting her overbearing mother run over her emotionally.
BTW, the character of the mother is hilariously awful and is a character that makes you want to send roses to every pleasant relative you have.

Another aging man leaving his wife for a younger woman story. This bookd deals with it in a realistic yet
humorous way.

I was getting dizzy reading all the cliches and funny lines Maggie threw at us. It’s a funny story of how her ho-hum life turns upside down when her critical husband decides he wants a divorce and has a student as his new gal. Maggie’s family becomes quite interesting too, a new dil and grandchild and boyfriend who makes quite elaborate gestures. It all ends well with more normalized family doings and personal life’s.

Everything made me laugh... the dialogue, the plot, even the chapter titles. This is not one of the world's great works of literature but when you need a cozy read, this one is really like getting together with a best friend and doing a "remember when" chat long into the night.

Okay, the story is like The First Wives Club. Maggie's prof. husband has an affair and they go thru a divorce. He tries to get back with her but she meets a doctor.
