Feels So Right Colin Russo was a world-class athlete until an accident took away everything he'd cared about. Why go on?
The answer to that question comes in the form of his very sexy and talented physical therapist Demi Anderson, who sets out to prove that his life is definitely still worth living…
Isabel Sharpe began writing in 1994 after leaving her job to raise her son. A former “bored housewife,” she has authored over twenty Harlequin novels and now writes women-focused fiction for Avon/HarperCollins, embracing her unexpected career.
Best one in the "Friends with Benefits" series!!! I was EXTREMELY disappointed with one thing in this story though which actually has nothing to do with the main characters. My biggest let down was Bonnie & Seth. I was given the first book in the series & thought it was alright. Just a quick read, BUT Bonnie & Seth's story line hooked me immediately. I read the second book BECAUSE of them. I read this book BECAUSE of them. I've been all aquiver in anticipation of their own book. Well, just like in the first two books their story is a secondary addition to the book & is CONCLUDED!! They don't get their own book!!! This depressed me since a book for them is what I was looking forward to! On to the positive things...Demi was an excellent character. She was vulnerable, insecure, & shy but still extremely likable with a sort of SILENT strength & confidence that she isn't even fully aware of. She is scared of the intensity of their connection but doesn't close herself off like so many romance characters do. Colin is an extremely likable, SEXY character. He exudes that macho personality but not in a way that is too much making the character unappealing like a lot of other romance heroes. Colin's character is a perfect example of how the right person can bring out the best in oneself & help one want to be a better person without even realizing it. His character doesn't really CHANGE in the book but rather becomes happy again & finds himself outside of a defined triathlete. Great story and I strongly recommend it.
I like to read a little smut every now and then to make sure I'm not missing out on anything. This was definitely better than some of the others I have read, but the standard romance novel is still just not my thing.
There was never any doubt that the attraction between Colin and Demi is mutual, so consent thankfully isn’t an issue here, still, I was pretty uncomfortable with their physical therapist/patient dynamic. A therapist engaging in sexual thoughts while massaging a client just did not sit particularly well with me, nor did the moment where they crossed a line while she was still his physical therapist. Combine that not so palatable start to their relationship with a third act breakup that hinged on a misunderstanding of sorts rather than something deeply rooted and this romance fell a bit short for me.
I liked that Demi is initially presented as introverted, there’s some believably awkward moments early on, however, the book wasn’t as consistent with that aspect of her personality as I would have preferred. As for Colin there’s a decent set up here for him having to come to terms with his life changing due to an injury, though I don’t think it was as fully explored emotionally as it could have been.
I guess my favorite thing here was how Demi works/lives in the same building as a group of other small business owners, more scenes involving their little community would have been welcome.
This would have been a really good book. I loved everyone in the story. But the author sidelined the main story bringing 4-5 chapters to others in the story. It would have been great if she just stuck to Demi and Collins. This was my first Harlequin Blaze novel and I'm really disappointed. And I was more disappointed when I liked the secondary story a little more than the original (Demi and Collins story was great too). I atleast hoped Bonnie and Seth would have a book dedicated to them. I previously disliked many books due to bad writing bad characters and almost everything but this was the first time when I liked the author but still couldn't understand why would she destroy such beautiful characters by mixing them up in one book, not really giving them what they deserve. I would have given 5 stars to both the books if she made the story that way. But she mixed the! up and killed it for me so.. only 2 stars.
The kind of solid, satisfying romance I've come to expect from Isabel Sharpe. A believable connection between the main characters, and a build that feels well-paced. As is often the case with Ms. Sharpe, the sex scenes were a cut above what I usually find in mainstream romance — just that little bit more creative and genuine. I auto-buy Isabel Sharpe, and wasn't disappointed.
This was the conclusion to a good mini-series, too. I really liked the subplot that spread out over the three books, so it was great to see a satisfying conclusion there, too.
It's such a satisfying feeling to read a series where each book gets better than the last. This series is one of those. Feels So Right is the 3rd and final book in the Friends With Benefits series and I truly enjoyed it from cover to cover. I love the friendship of these 5 people and seeing new relationships form as they meet the loves of their lives. Isabel Sharpe did a fantastic job reminding me why I love her writing.
I'll be honest, a big part of the reason I enjoyed this story is because I'm from the Puget Sound and am feeling incredibly homesick right now. That said, I still think this story is well written and I liked that the conflict seemed legit. I love romance novels but sometimes the problems are soooo contrived. In this case I thought they made total sense for the characters. I was also surprised at how little angst was in the story.
I hadn't read the series so I kept checking the characters names and who did what business, etc. I think Seth & Bonnie deserved their own book instead of being squeezed into Colin & Demi's. I think the ethical part of her career was done well and that she didn't just go with it without thinking about the consequences. A good read and a sexy guy who changes inside for the better.
Very nice story of an injured athlete who has to get over himself. I'm not saying every book has to approach the concept that triathletes are just doing it for their ego, but it was refreshing. Believable 'opposites attract' scenario too.
A simple and quick read that had a great premise, but unfortunately was not executed well; with characters lacking any depth, and lastly, with two protagonists having absolutely no connection whatsoever, let alone any heat or chemistry.
Enjoyable read with a couple great steamy scenes. The anticipation/buildup of Colin and Demi's relationship was very well done. The climax with Stephanie was a little weird, maybe not the best written scene in the book. Wasn't tough at all to enjoy despite not reading the first few in the series.
I haven't read a more meaningful and special contemporary, adult, erotica, romance than the series. If all my fingers are thumbs which can all give a thumbs up... Haha! Kidding aside. Love. This is it.
