In 1990 two retired Marines, Colonel Paul Duckworth and Sergeant Major Seth Thompson, are called upon to investigate an apparent friendly fire shooting that occurred 22 years earlier on a Viet Nam battlefield. Following a trail of sworn but questionable testimony, their inquiry will either convict or exonerate the accused Marine of deliberate murder.
