I expected to love this course (Health Psychology), instead it left a lukewarm feeling. And so did the book! There were parts that were quite interesting and I dare say enjoyable to read and some parts that were really boring. But regardless of preference, it is not a difficult textbook to read for a level 6 psychology student. It is easy to comprehend so I would recommend it.

*Health Psychology: A Textbook* by Jane Ogden is an excellent resource for students and professionals seeking to understand the psychological aspects of health and illness. The book provides a thorough overview of health psychology, touching on topics like behaviour change, stress, coping mechanisms, and the psychological impacts of chronic illness. Ogden'ss clear and engaging writing makes complex theories accessible, and the textbook is well-structured for easy reference, with helpful case studies and research-based insights. This makes it a valuable tool for academic research.

Interestingly, *Health Psychology* could also be an unexpected resource for writing a fantasy novel. By understanding the psychological dimensions of health, authors can craft more nuanced characters who face mental and physical challenges in their fictional worlds. Whether it's exploring the stress of living in a magical world or dealing with the trauma of battle, the insights from this book can be creatively adapted to add depth and realism to fantasy characters and plotlines. The connection between mind and body and the impact of social and environmental factors on health can serve as an intriguing foundation for world-building in a fantasy setting.

This versatile textbook is both informative and inspiring for various creative applications.

This is a good introductory book to the discipline of health psychology. The reading is easy and quick, achievable for anyone that is interested and has no health science background.
However, I would have liked to have a more in-depth explanation of certain topics, especially on genre and health, and the impact of chronic diseases.
