This is the man who, over the past decade, has taken amazing photographs of many of the world s leading musicians. Closer is a collection of the works of Soren Solkaer Starbird, a Danish photographer who has risen to astronomical heights in the world of international photography. His portraits, ranging from deep and intimate studies to large format cinematic scenes shot in mind-blowing locations, have been published on the covers of the world s leading Q, GQ, Arena, Rolling Stone and Wallpaper.
Artists featured in this, his second volume of work, include young, upcoming artists such as Amy Winehouse, Arctic Monkeys, Lily Allen, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, The White Stripes and The Killers, together with established music icons such as U2, Oasis, Robert Plant, Metallica, Damon Albarn, Patti Smith, and Paul McCartney.
An exhibition of the works featured in Closer opened in Copenhagen, Denmark, this year and will travel internationally to prestigious destinations such as London and Beijing.
