Cathy's boyfriend Mike never seems to have enough time for her, so she decides to visit her relatives over winter vacation. While visiting a graveyard of Revolutionary War British soldiers, Cathy encounters the ghost of Edward. Cathy is inextricably drawn to him and, as they meet on beautiful snowy days, they fall deeply in love. At times, Edward takes Cathy back to his world, a world filled with magnificent dances and romantic horseback rides through the beautiful English countryside. He begs her to stay there with him, and Cathy, torn by her love, must decide whether to follow her head or follow her heart.
This book is an absolute sweet romatic winter holiday read. I love how the author takes readers back into time to get a glimpse into edwards life. I can relate to Cathy a lot as well. I feel kinda sorry for her though since her boyfriend doesnt have much time for her. I also believe that Edward is the best man for her even though he is a ghost. Bryan just seems like he's too good to be true.
Easy to read but the FMC is so incredibly vapid. She has no idea what she wants to do with her life but everyone tells her how pretty she is. She’s supposed to be Irish American and the book never stops reminding you of that. She even uses weird slang like blarney unironically. Not one but THREE guys are after her. And of course she has a “fat” BFF. Took about 50 pages for her to even leave Chicago and 100 pages for anything to happen.
Spoiler: she doesn’t end up with the ghost in the end unfortunately.

3.5. A young adult romance involving time travel as a young girl meets a young British soldier from the Revolutionary War. Sweet- for a young adult romance.
