My earliest love of reading was the Westerns. This author came recommended by James Reasoner. Four Western short stories first published in the 1940s/1950s are collected into this volume. They're a few notches better than what you'd expect to find published in the pulp magazines. I liked the action scenes, and the protagonist is worth cheering on. An enjoyable evening of reading.
