The author continues her story of Elsin Vollen in this sequel to Beneath the Surface. Once agin she injects horrific and brutal situations into his life. I actually reached a point where I wasn't sure I could continue reading the book. While he has grown as a person he still struggles to be a better person. At times the situations are beyond belief. If you can stay with it, it is a decent read. You have to overlook the grammar and spelling errors (author needs a better copy writer).
