I liked that this book had different textures than some of the other books. It also had a female pirate!

Note: Parents, please check board books before returning them to the library. No one likes finding mystery stains.

Some of the textures creep me out in this book. And I’m still not entirely sure what a pirate is. I just know that most of them are not mine.

Libro perfecto para ir aprendiendo vocabulario para describir texturas. Al poderlas tocar se intuye muy bien el significado de cada adjetivo.

Perfect book for learning adjectives to describe textures. Perfect for both, babies and children learning English from another native language.

Typical “That’s Mot My...” book. Lots to feel and see. Simple. No complaints.

Excellent world building, but down a star because the cutlass section isn't about touching OR feeling.

We Love this series. Read it all the time with the grandkids. The touchy feely aspect keeps them entertained.

The little man enjoyed it, but I think he’s still a bit too young to fully appreciate the touchy-feely weely aspects.

It was great to see old and young pirates as well as girls and boys in this board book - a pirate for everyone! My daughter was particularly entranced by the bumpy eyepatch and the fluffy beard, but wasn't interested in the silky shirt as the texture was just slightly too smooth for her tiny fingers. The addition of a sparkling cutlass was very cool, though: even though it wasn't that interesting to touch, she didn't want me to turn the page away from the sparkles.

Touch-and-feel board book featuring pirates! Who wouldn't love this? Very unique textures on each page. A bonus: each page reads "That's not my pirate... his ______ is too _____." until the last page, which reads "That's my pirate! His beard is so fluffy." and Little Harris' dad has a beard! Perfect. Got this from the library- considering purchasing.

These little "touchy-feely" board books from Usborne are THE BEST!

If you can't put your hands on a copy of this book (I fear they are going out of print) you can make some flip cards with images featuring
a pirate scarf
a pirate hat
a pirate vest or shirt
a pirate eye patch
a pirate cutlass
a pirate beard

a little white mouse appears on each page looking for "my pirate".

Every one in this series is a winner! We love touching the different things that identify each pirate and picking our favorite one! We read this one at a bookstore in the Maryland Renaissance Faire.

I think I'm giving this 5 stars just because I like the texture of the headscarf on the cover so much. Actually all the textures are just perfect and conjures the image that the author is looking for. A perfect book for those little ones who love pirates. Creative and silly and lots of fun.

Though the concept of owning a pirate is a bit strange, this board book and its teaching of distinct textures is really well-made and sweet. Lu enjoyed touching each page.

Nice one for babies and toddlers :) I like it for it’s unusual adjectives, like glittery and silky.

It’s a “That’s not my...” book innit. Nice to see a female pirate though. Flo liked the idea of being a pirate.
