Lucy Telford knows all about heartache — her teenage crush on her friend Gabriel Blake was a crash course in unrequited love. But these days she’s determined to make her own happy ending…and if her boyfriend won’t get down on bended knee, she’ll just have to ask him herself!
Step one is enlisting Gabriel’s help. As an absolute woman-magnet, surely he can give her some tips on becoming irresistible? But Lucy’s perfect plan goes awry when she starts wondering if she’s asking the right man to walk her down the aisle…
Charlotte Phillips writes modern, fun, it-could-happen-to-you stories for Mills & Boon RIVA/Harlequin KISS and shorter length sexy contemporary stories for HarperImpulse.
She lives in Wiltshire, England, where she squashes her writing in between looking after her family, who have been taught not to notice that she's rubbish at housework. Her stories are fuelled by lots of coffee and years of daydreaming.
I have to admit I love best friend romances, but this is one of the better ones. I really liked the heroine and the hero, it was fun and light. I believed in their feelings.
My only complaints are that I didn't quite feel his devastation to the degree that I would have liked towards the end, and that their interaction/relationship progression was all emotional - other than one kiss and vague brushes of the hand.
