"...an abandoned and abused mythical creature discovers kindness and magic in the human world when an emotionally battered older man rescues him." 'So much magic in one story." "An intriguing love story from a different realm."
'Efe decides to quit his job and sell his estate after discovering his partner in bed with his best friend. He starts a new life in a small town named Elmhurst and begins to enjoy living in his large log cabin surrounded by the woods. However, the only thing he needs is a caretaker. Samh, a mysterious male from out of town, was Efe's choice. That’s when things heat up and get complicated! Sometimes, a little magic, patience, and fun toys can help a Daddy Dom and his Little wash away loneliness and misgivings and brighten their lives with sunshine.'
*A Little Bit Of Magic is a sizzling ageplay fantasy romance featuring two consenting adults who are perfect for each other. It includes DDLB elements, a touch of drama, and a Happily-Ever-After. Enjoy! * An exciting story that helps you escape the drudgery of real life and explore a new world. *This story is a stand-alone, but it is preferable to have read Daddy In Training to get acquainted with Faine and his mate David*
I'm a Turkish multi-genre indie author. I love writing tales swirling (or intertwined by) with elements of romance, passion, mystery, horror, and fantasy where falling in love with a different kind of hero is the only possibility...
We meet Efe, after his boyfriend cheated on him, he sold his house and retreated to the woods. It’s there where he meets Samh. Samh seems to come from a cult, escaped? Efe is not sure. He needs a housekeeper and Samh says he can do it. Very slowly the story turns into a more magical story, (awesomely done btw) as readers we know, Samh knows, of course, only Efe does not, and he doesn’t listen well, there are signs, but he’s filling the gaps himself.
Samh is a centuries-old, three-hearted hobgoblin, who works in the Fea community as a cleaner. He is different, not just, his head is in the clouds, he got broken fingers, he’s touch-starved and lonely, very lonely. Samh is hurt, by others, they laughed at him, call him names, and make him feel less and low.
Through a portal, Samh entered the human realm. Here he’s out of magic and doesn’t understand a lot of things, like why there is salty water leaking from his eyes. He ends up working for Efe.
Efe is enchanted by Samh, his gestures, his fantasy tails, his fascinating imagination, his innocence. Samh can’t believe his luck, this master is nice, he can sleep in a bed, he cook meals for him (we get a look at the Turkish cuisine, awesome)
The bond and developed feelings they build are strong. But based on what? While Efe is a caring Daddy, I wondered how he’ll react if he knew where Samh comes from.
This author has their own voice, which I love. It got something pure and sweet. This story is full of dazzling pure innocent, the fantasy is wonderful, the hurt comfort palpable, you can always expect something from the author's Turkish origin. There’s no hurry in this story, every aspect is widely written, so it’s a bit on the slow pace side. It’s all about Efe and Samh and the bubble they live in. Altogether a sweet, endearing fantasy story, that grabbed me by the heart at times. Oh and look for the amazing images inside this book, I adored them, so precious.
Samh loves being a Little and he is not appreciated for it in the Fae World. He is expected to keep the house of his Masters clean and anything beyond that where he engages in his own 'play' is frowned upon by his Masters. That is why he does not have a set home, as he is removed from duty in many places. He decides to leave all that and with Master Faine's help, he comes to the human world hoping to change his luck.
Efe finds his partner cheating on him with his neighbour and gets sick of it. In a fit of anger, he leaves everything behind including his job as a high paid lawyer and goes back to nature in Elmhurst. There Efe is able to remember the love of his adopted parents and he reteaches himself things that he has always enjoyed doing, but has not done for a long time. But one thing that Efe learns the hard way is that housekeeping is not his thing. He is looking for a housekeeper and it is at this time that Samh comes into his life.
The characters and their chemistry and the erotica was nice. The human and the Fae world and their meeting was a unique takeaway from the story. Efe's adopted parents, especially his Turkish mother and her recipes, were also sweet.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one! The story revolves around Efe, an older gay man that finds his younger lover in bed with his neighbor Graham so he decides to leave the city and move into a secluded house in woods in the small town of Elmhurst to escape the pain. His solitude interrupted by Samh, whom he believes is answering an ad for a housekeeper. Unbeknownst to Efe, Samh is from the Far realm, a hobgoblin brownie to be precise, looking to escape from others that keep treating him poorly. They both have their own relationship baggage but the real question is can they stay together once Samh tells Efe of his true origin or will it lead to despair and death? No spoilers, so get a copy and discover the magic of love. I highly recommend this one!
Having been betrayed in the worst-possible way by his partner and his good friend, the ageing Efe uproots himself from his childhood home in the city and moves to a small country community. Even though he enjoys the slower pace of life, there’s a problem in that Efe is lousy at housework and can’t find a housekeeper to keep his new home in order, despite his best efforts to find one.
One day he finds the cold and inadequately-clad Samh shivering on his porch. Taking pity on the waif, Efe brings Samh indoors to shower, dress and feed him—although the little chap’s total ignorance of bathroom technology puzzles him. Deciding that the pitiful stray has escaped from some sort of abusive cult, where he’s been kept in ignorance of the outside world, Efe hires Samh as his housekeeper. The results are interesting, as Samh is in fact a brownie from the Fae world of the woods close by, frequently losing his employment—think Dobby the house-elf in Harry Potter, albeit in humanoid form—due to his childlike inability to carry out his duties.
There are misunderstandings aplenty as this pair gradually grow close and bond, as Daddy-Dom and Submissive, and it’s unsure what the outcome will be when Efe finally discovers who his new mate is.
It’s a well-written piece, dubbed a ‘playful fantasy’ by author Lily Lamb, with some explicit gay sex scenes. There’s also a cameo role for Guardian of the Forest Faine, along with his human partner David, whose story the author told in Daddy in Training. A sweet story of finding new love for elderly Efe and the childlike Samh.
Man this was such a good read. What I love most about Lily Lamb’s work is how alive they become. You feel the characters’ emotions. And the visuals of the scenes she so beautifully describes are so moving. Wait until you see the images in here. So perfectly matched to the story. I loved seeing Faine and David again. It was great to see how much David has changed due to the mate bond while still keeping the core essence of himself. I highly recommend reading their story before you get to know Efe and Samh. Don’t be surprised if you are hungry after reading A Little Bit of Magic. Ref’s cooking had me drooling.
I absolutely loved reading this book. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. The characters and storyline were well written. I highly recommend reading this story. I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.
A Little Bit of Magic is a holiday story set in a world where Fae meets the Human world and introduces us to Efe, a brownie with a desperate need to play with toys and the human daddy who doesn't know he needs a boy like Efe in his life...
Best read after Daddy in Training, A Little Bit of Magicc brings together two bruised and battered souls and provides some fun miscommunication along the way. It does deal with some pretty terrible backstory for how the two men are treaded, but definitely delivers on the sweet, playful fantasy romance that is promised.
A Little Bit of Magic was a quick read and I recommend you check it out if your looking for a different sort of holiday twist...
Love this author's work, description, and quirkiness. Huge juxtapositions take the reader on a ride. One minute we are feeling for an angry man, cheated on and feeling he has to move house, the next we are feeling for a brownie who is constantly sacked as a house elf for playing with children's toys. Two worlds, but this author has the ability to mesh them together, without the reader noticing. Brilliant tale of male on male, brilliant writing and well worth a read.
The two main characters are an older man, successful with a taste for Turkish cooking, and a fae, a sprite from another world. The sprite falls in love with him but doesn't tell him the whole story. That's almost their undoing, but, it's a fantasy, and the characteristics of this world are subject to change. It's well written, and draws you into each of their minds well.
I've read other books by this author and they never disappoint! I love the way they fearlessly delve into their genre and explore all the facets of their descriptive characters. I love their passion... and the passion in their stories. Definitely recommend!
A well written book, I loved this story, it took my mind off my job for a while while I was indulged in what would happen next, I enjoy reading many books and this was one of the best.
This was really nicely done. The characters were thoroughly well developed and it was a pleasant and enjoyable read. I thought the bounce between p.o.vs was especially well handled - which isn't often the case. Kudos!
Efe has been abandoned and betrayed many times in his life, most recently by his much younger boyfriend. He moves away from the city and starts over only to encounter a young man who changes his world for the better. The only problem is that Samh is hiding something very important. Can two people who are from different worlds make their love story a reality? I won’t give the story away because it’s a great book to read. The characters are certainly brought to life between these pages and I really enjoyed reading it.
Many stories have a human discover a magical realm and have a wonderful adventure. I love how this was flipped upside down to be about a magical creature who entered the human realm and discovered the magic of our world, mostly the magic of love. Even if you're not too wrapped in daddy/little tropes I believe, just like me, you'll love being lost in this amazing story of trauma and healing with a magical twist.
The fantasy love story we're looking at is unique and deep. It tells us about Efe, a human with a sad past, and Samh, a magical creature from a different world. Their story helps us think about where we belong, who we are, and how love can change us.
The people in the story are very well made. Efe changes a lot from being alone to learning about love and forgiveness. Samh is innocent and shows us that being open with our feelings is good. Other characters like Mother Gaia and Guardian Faine add more to the story by showing us the powers of nature and magic.
The writer creates a very detailed and magical world. There's a mix of everyday life and magical moments. But sometimes, there's so much magic that it's hard to follow along. The story needs a good balance between the real world and the magical one.
The story is about big ideas like love, losing something important, and finding out who we really are. It's not just a simple love story; it makes us think more deeply about life. This book making us feel for Efe and Samh. We want them to be happy and together. Their journey of getting back together is full of feelings and shows how strong love can be.
**Final Thoughts:** This love story is special because it mixes a real-life story with fantasy. It shows that love is powerful and can help us find out who we are meant to be. It is a testament to the enduring power of love and the eternal search for belonging and identity in a complex and often unfathomable world.
Lily Lamb's "A Little Bit of Magic" weaves a spellbinding tale of love, redemption, and the enchantment of the unknown. In this captivating story, an abandoned mythical creature finds solace and companionship in the unlikely company of an emotionally scarred man. As their bond deepens, they embark on a journey filled with whimsy, magic, and unexpected twists. Lamb skillfully crafts a narrative that transports readers to a world where love knows no bounds and where the power of acceptance and understanding reigns supreme. "A Little Bit of Magic" is a delightful ageplay fantasy romance that promises to warm hearts and ignite imaginations.
“A Little Bit of Magic" is a LGBTQ+ romance that beautifully blends love and healing. The story follows Efe, who starts anew in a small town after a heartbreaking betrayal, and Samh, the mysterious caretaker who brings unexpected warmth and complexity into his life. The relationship between Efe and Samh is beautiful explores, and with Daddy Dom, it adds extra layers to their connection.
It important to mention that the book includes some explicit content, so it’s definitely more suitable for adult readers. If you’re looking for a romance that’s both sweet and a bit steamy, this is a great choice.
This book was great. The story revolves around Efe, who finds his lover in bed with his neighbor. Efe leaves his childhood home and moves to a secluded house in woods in the small town of Elmhurst to escape the pain. After that an intriguing character named Samh appears. Samh is from the Far realm looking to escape. What will happen next? You will have to read to find out. The author does a great job with description and consistency of thought process and dialogue. Character development is solid and even though it contains fantastical elements, the characters felt real.
Lily Lamb’s naturalistic and sensitive writing brings to life this imaginative fantasy that turns the usual fairytale plot upside down: an abandoned and abused mythical creature discovers kindness and magic in the human world when he is rescued by an emotionally battered older man. There’s lots of graphic sex and a sprinkling of humor springing from miscommunications.
Recommended for readers who like gay romance with a fantasy slant.
don’t know why I thought this would be a children’s fairy tale and I was in for a corrective shock! a jealous of Efe because who, after a bad break-up, hasn’t wanted to move into the country & get away from it all? the love story that develops, well, the less that’s written about it here, probably the better, but I can’t help but dig a tale where Sarah Vaughan saves the day!
In a surprising original take on the traditional gateway to the Fae world, Lily Lamb had woven an exceptional tale filed with unusual characters, sensual romance and quite a bit of hot steamy sex. You will fall in love all over again as Efe and Samh work their way through the trials of their growing relationship. The ending will bring you to tears. A must read.
I have always like Lily Lamb's books but this one was the best by far!
Samh has spent too long without love with the fae realm but all that changes when he is hired by Efe as a house keeper. Efe doesn't know what Samh is but what happens when he funds out?
This is a beautiful tale of growth through acceptance and learning to love yourself, told as only Lily Lamb can. The ebook even has pictures! If you like characters with depth, or M/m paranormal romance books, you will love this!
This is a great story of starting over in a new place and finding love when you aren't looking for it. I immediately loved the MC Efe and really wanted his new home and life to work for him. The love story develops with some fantasy/magical twists mixed in. Really enjoyed this book.
This book is a delightful blend of fantasy and romance with a sprinkle of magic. Efe and Samh's love story unfolds in a captivating way. An enchanting escape from reality.
An erotic, fantastical story with fun, quirky characters with elements of passion and magic. I love the artwork within the book as it helps the story come to life. The courtship is not typical, but their love story is sweet and I enjoyed the ending.
The author likes to write and fantasy and how humans and magical creatures mix. Interesting that this story is about how a magical creature enters into the human world.
