After about 18 months, I finally finished this year-long devotion. I thoroughly enjoyed the layout of this book, and highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a unique devotional book. Eugene Peterson takes the text of The Message and divides into 365 daily readings, with commentary and questions designed to get you to really think about what you are reading. The best thing about it is that it is not dated. The days are simply numbered. So if you miss a day, no worries, just pick back up with the next reading. Also, you can start at anytime of the year you want. Very good book!

Once I got used to the informality of the scripture, I loved this devotional! I like that I don't just read the scripture, sometimes I read it aloud, walk and read, read it 3x, things like that. I like the interactive questions in the daily 'think' part and the suggestions for prayer. I also like that each scripture has an extended passage noted so that I can look it up and get further background information on the story of the evening. More involved than my last devotional, I'm enjoying this one mightily!
