This is a very good entry guide into the HAARP Technology.
From the development of the idea and patents, detailed explanation on the potential of this technology for the use of good or evil, moral debates, until the just starting operation in 1995.
The Potentials:
1. Intercepts Missiles, Enemy Aircraft at the speed of Electromagnetic Wave(Light).
3.Control Weather, altering natural weather patterns by heating the atmosphere (ionosphere)
4. Trigger Earthquakes at Fault lines. Activate volcanic eruptions
5. Create unnatural Storms and Mega Hurricanes
6. Mind control and brain "frying" of people, or can be used to heal people.
7. Disrupt the life cycle of animals, fish, birds and insects. Might kill birds, bees and fish. (without bees and birds to pollinate, food cannot grow)
8. Discover new energy.
etc.
16 years has passed and HAARP have became infamous target by Conspiracy Theorists for the world catastrophic events happening.
This may be a Science Fiction that became reality.
Highly informative, a mind changing look at technology that is and will effect the world as we know it. Although, written in 1995 the information is totally relevant today.
This is a must read for anyone who has questioned the HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program)in Gakona, Alaska. Although there is a reasonable amount of literature and videos (YouTube) online, this extremely well-researched account provides superb references and the core concepts are clearly organized and conveyed. It is my hope more people would educate themselves on this issue.
In his autobiography, Nikola Tesla said the impulse that dominated him was "to harness the energies of nature to the service of man." Tesla wanted his inventions to help humanity. This book tells us the dangers of the microwave relay and radio-frequency technologies. Although, I do not agree with many points made out by the author some facts and stories are quite scary. Mars lost her atmosphere; let's not lose ours.
The quality of information and importance of this book is 5 star worthy, however.... I couldn't finish it because it's trying to prevent something from happening an it frequently mentions this. This is 1995, mind you, so I get the constant wonder of what actually wound up happening which I know this book could never tell me. Haarp itself is scary and there's great information, and I read enough to oppose this operation without a doubt, but the antiquated nature of the subject at hand and the rather bland writing left much to desire. So now, 7 months after starting it (for the second time; first time was 4 years ago), I'm formally recognizing that I'll never finish it. There's an updated version after haarp was created which I may read someday. I am curious about any insight to Haarps current activities (which there probably isn't much of).
Fascinating and frightening. I know that HAARP is real as it has been briefly covered by main-stream media; but if Begich and Manning are right, misuse of this technology could seriously contribute to global disaster. There is an updated version of this book that I hope to read soon.
Fascinating. I knew the patents were out there, and they don't get issued without a reasonable scale "working model." But maybe the military should leave our atmosphere alone. After all, we need it.
This is an interesting book, but somewhat I was a bit disappointed, but all in all, it still deserves four stars but I considered giving it 3 stars. It wastes too much time on some silly political issues, and then it does not really go deep or technical on some aspects, could try to go to greater length on its capabilities. It does a good job of alerting people that some of the ideas of Tesla were fascinating but still very dangerous. After reading the book I was more informed but still I felt it somehow could give me more information. The book takes a very negative approach to this technology and rightly so, it is a big radionic power structure that can manipulate the humor of the people and much more, but probably this is just one aspect of many things that are going on and we don't have a clue.
Worth a light skim at best. Poorly compiled mish-mash presentation of advanced technology and half truths. Appears to be written with the purpose of generating heat, not light. Fearmongering. Conspiracy theories. "Free energy" "Mind control" blah blah blah A waste of time reading it - I hoped to find some redeeming value, alas there is none.
I’d like to say well-researched, but some paragraphs are word-for-word from the Wikipedia article. I don’t know which came first to pin my accusation. If you want to know how conspiracy theorists think, this is it.
This is a book regarding a very compelling subjects that is a MUST read to be informed regarding the government's unchecked forays into areas of potentially devastating consequences. The contention by the authors is the US military has installed a system in Alaska that has the ability to change the ionosphere in a manner that can alter weather. The capabilities also span electronics jamming to potential for modification of behaviors on a large scale.
The summary regarding fears concerning the monitoring of citizens indiscriminately using advanced GPS and super computers on a vast scale is alone worth the time to read. It is a stark reminder of how much we have lost in the way of individual freedoms with all these dire predictions coming true in even more diabolical fashion. There is lots written on line about Haarp, but this book goes way beyond the general conspiracy talk on the internet to capture sources and history that reveals this project in full context.
This was interesting and disturbing. Why is it the mad scientist is always knocked off so that some government organization can control their research. Sounds too far fetched to be real, but it is. I read this book when it first came out and to this day I get a little chill when I think about it. I have always been interested in Tesla's work primarily because so much of his findings made their way into practical applications.
I can't believe it took me this long to finish the book... It was probably one of the most boring books i've ever read. Tastes like a classic American conspiracy theory; ''Oh, our government is hiding something from us!'' ... Well, even if your government does, i hope they're better at writing. I literally slept when i was trying to read it :/
