Dr. Peggy M. Houghton is a seasoned educator and academic leader with over three decades of experience in higher education, specializing in management and leadership studies. As a professor of doctoral studies at Baker College Center for Graduate Studies from 2008 to 2023, she played a pivotal role in mentoring nontraditional online doctoral students, teaching courses in leadership, research methods, doctoral writing, and literature review. Her commitment to academic excellence included serving on more than 75 dissertation committees and supporting faculty development. Dr. Houghton has held a range of academic leadership roles at Baker College, including Department Chair of Leadership Studies, Dean and Associate Dean of Business Administration, and full-time and adjunct faculty. She has been instrumental in developing and integrating leadership curricula across the institution, recruiting and mentoring faculty, and enhancing student engagement in both traditional and remote learning environments. She holds a PhD in Management from Walden University, a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Oakland University.
