A Personal Reality Check

As Corporations begin on the path to a sustainable future, attracting investors as they market themselves, this book lays out a plan for individuals to check themselves and question what they really want to purchase. Buying less, higher quality items, that will last is the way to go.

Full Disclosure, I'm the author, so take this FWIW. Sustainable Living should be a goal for the planet and people also, this book convincingly impresses on you the need for global and personal change with solid facts & figures. I have begun changing habits in my own life, one at a time to make a difference. A quick and easy read that will have an impact for years to come. Differences between SL, Minimalism and Zero Waste are explained well. Worth reading and keeping as a reference.

Finding the right balanced lifestyle between consumption and production is becoming more important than ever in our current climate crisis. But while it may sound easy, the concept of sustainable living, minimalism, and zero waste life has a much deeper meaning than what meets the eye. In "Sustainable living, Minimalism, and Zero Waste" author B.R.Pohl offers a comprehensive perspective on living sustainably, adhering to minimalistic values, and embracing a zero-waste lifestyle.

The book is written in an easy-to-read format that emphasizes practical advice on how to reduce physical clutter, save money, and have more time for meaningful pursuits. Brent explores how reducing our dependence on material goods can help us focus more on our mental and physical health by removing distractions caused by consumer culture. In addition, he explains how to implement sustainable systems, eco habits in both home and community spaces, and creative strategies that make minimalism financially undemanding.

You will learn the most important things about our everyday waist such as plastic, paper, cosmetics and beauty products, fast fashion or better said – junk clothing, toxic addiction to gadgets, and much more. Ultimately this book can motivate readers to find joy in life experiences over buying things, improving their mental well-being while at the same time decreasing their environmental footprint.

New ideas for me!

This book was a first for me. I have been vaguely familiar with the concepts presented. A bit overwhelming at first, Mr. Pohl helped me with the practical suggestions in the latter part of the book. I was glad to see his precise definitions throughout. For one who wants to explore ways to help "save the planet " I would recommend this easy-to-read book.

Many useful ideas in this book. Even as someone who has been on a journey towards minimalism and reducing waste for a few years) and thought I had done my fair share of research/reading/self-education!), I was still pleased to find a lot of suggestions that I hadn’t previously considered. A few USA specific companies/organizations listed which was not relevant to me (and may not be relevant to other readers overseas), however this has prompted me to look for similar local options.

I was caught off guard…

I cant get over how much i highlighted, or saved various portions of this book. Very well laid out, almost conversational- never preachy- well annotated and cited- it more has caused a very intentional “new perspective” on my household. Whereas other approaches can seem overwhelming and unrealistic- the author appeals to a universal goal to “eliminate the excess to leave room for whats most important- relationships, creativity, etc” Good stuff- well done B. R.

Practical Doable Meaningful

Everyone will find an area to work on first in this well written book. Whether you want to address personal savings, lifestyle enrichment, or ecology, you'll find a small or big change you can really get into and enjoy. A hopeful and helpful book that addresses how you personally can have an impact while improving your own life. Read on Kindle Unlimited but like so well I'm adding it to my Kindle permanently.

This was a good read to start my eco-friendly journey as it not only brought awareness to some of the scary statistics about what humans are doing to this earth, but then gave plenty of different recommendations on how we can make small changes to fix it. I also really enjoyed how this book used references to show how true this data is, rather than it having no proof behind it. A really good choice for ones getting into or wanting to know more about how to take care of this world! :)

5.0 stars. Really got alot out of this quick easy read. Well written and highly informative. For me the first 30% was frightening, depressing and sad as the author gives the status of what is and what's to come. But then then the how to make positive changes starts and it was uphill from there on out. Great references. Some good ideas on how to up my game when it comes to clutter, minimizing waste and living even more sustainably. An excellent read.
