Gathers some of the most dramatic and memorable images of the events of September 11, 2001, and the days following, including rescue efforts and reactions around the world.
This book features photographs from the disaster area but I was puzzled by the decision to use them in a smaller size with the half of each page being a huge white border around the small picture? It reduces the impact of the photos themselves and it looks pretty stupid.
A necessary but terrible visual account. Necessary, because the world should never have to go through this kind of atrocity, and terrible because it did.
This a picture book with captions. Although there is lack of detailed text, the story is powerfully told through pictures capturing the deep emotions felt on that day and for many days following. My 11-year-old and I were moved to tears as we looked though the book today and talked about what it was like.
