This is the second of two sweet little non-fiction books full of "useless information that's essential to know." I learned tons new things reading this book - i.e. how Coldplay got their name, that Thomas Jefferson invented the wooden coat hanger and the seven modern wonders of the world (The Aswan High Dam, The Channel Tunnel, The Eiffel Tower, The Golden Gate Bridge, The Statue of Liberty, The Trans-Siberian Railway and The Panama Canal - I've hit 3!). This could be extremely useful in program planning - for trivia, word games, or experiments.
So I sat down with this book just to look at it for a minute. Next thing I know, I've read the whole thing. Some of it is fascinating. Some of the "useless information" I already knew. And some of it was the gross kind of details that so many kids, especially the boys, tend to love! I'm pretty sure that my grandsons will be loving this one!
