This book is a Level 1 reader, meaning it is meant for children in Kindergarten and first grade, ages 5 and 6, who are just beginning to read. This book includes a suggested activity and note to parents.

A lot of information packed into such a tiny book. Great fun to re-learn things that were taught in school but long forgotten. 5 different kinds of Lightning ... Hmmm ... Forgotten knowledge = new trivia. :D
Thunderstorms happen in a few steps. There are different types of lightning. Astronauts have seen several types of lightning and scientists are learning what causes these different types. We also learn how thunder is made and the differences between thunder and lightning. Lightning can be dangerous which is why it is important to be in a safe place when it thunderstorms. Once the storms are over, there is a possibility for a rainbow!
I like that this book helps readers with vocabulary words by having a glossary at the end of the book. The pictures in this book are also really cool, especially the pictures of lightning.
This would be good to read when the kids are learning about weather because thunder and lightning happens when it thunderstorms and rains.
