It’s December, and Daisy comes face-to-face with her ‘ghosts of kisses past’. Never mind New Year’s resolutions—what she needs are New Year wishes. She’ll complete a list of tasks that pave the way for a fresh start, wishing away her past relationship mistakes. Including her yearning for the mysterious, gorgeous man she kissed on the night before New Year’s Eve eight years ago and never saw again... until now. Charlie’s back in town, in the role of Santa. Could he have another chance with the magical, unforgettable woman he kissed all those years ago?
A short, sweet festive second-chance romance novella set in an English seaside town, and written in British English.
Luci Beach is the author of romantic novels and novellas. When she isn't writing, reading or spending time with her family, she works as a travel copywriter, a UK/US English linguist and an editor of extremely cute picture books.
I read this on New Years Day and it was the perfect read to kick off the year. This is a sweet novella full of heart and all about shaking off the past and embracing the future. This small town setting is the same one from Luci’s Christmas novella from a couple of years ago which of course I had to reread immediately and let me tell you it was even better second time around.
Loved this heartfelt & heartwarming book! I read it last year, and still think about it often! The banter between Ciara and her flatmates was so funny, and Ciara herself is a great heroine. I loved seeing her work through her own internal battles on her way to finding happiness, and really appreciated the way this book didn't diminish or gloss over how hard it can be to be happy sometimes.
Set in Star Bay, a small town in England, this is the story of Daisy and Charlie. A short read but probably one of the best romances I've read this year. I read it on New Year's Eve Eve, aptly matching the timeline in the story :) Definitely recommend.
Eight years ago, Daisy meet Charlie. After talking for hours and sharing a kiss, Charlie left! Now he is back! Can he make it up to Daisy? Can they find love together?
I'm not a fan of young adult books. While the main characters were supposedly mid-twenties or older as the short story progresses, they act like teenagers instead of adults. I didn't like the characters nor the story so wouldn't recommend it.
A very charming novella about new starts and second chances. I enjoyed my visit to Star Bay, it would be nice to catch up with Charlie and Daisy in a future book.
Super cute long awaited love; Daisy’s list is such a great idea & I LOVE that Charlie helps her do all the things on said list so she can start the New Year!
