This popular handbook is an updated and expanded second edition for establishing, organizing, and maintaining quality infant and toddler programs. A new, interactive CD-ROM is included for providers to customize forms, checklists, and policies for specific programs.
I used this book for college in my Infant and Toddler Group Care class. For each chapter we had to write a reflection paper on the three things we learned. I learned a lot by doing that. I know I will be going back to this book for my other classes and future work. It is an easy read and well organized. The key topics that are discussed in this book are developmental issues, staffing and staff training, discipline, curriculum, assessment, establishing routines, infants and toddlers with special needs, creating learning and nurturing environments, health/nutrition/safety policies, partnering with parents, and program evaluation. I definitely recommend this book for every student who is majoring in Early Childhood Education - Infants and Toddlers.
