Christian Heroines: Just Like You

Rate this book
These women made sacrifices for their faith. They endured pain and suffering in order to give glory to their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and they have given us a legacy. With these twenty–one heroines you can go through history and see how these women made a difference in their world and in church. From the slave girl Blandina through to the young mother Betty Stam, we discover the women from the early church to modern missionaries who face their struggles with the strength of God. Nothing could separate them, or us, from the love of God.

This was a very encouraging book, i enjoyed it and it helped me during a time when i wasn’t feeling great so it was really nice to read about girls and women who had faith in god and saw great things happen through him even if they died for their faith.
One note to be had is it is a protestant book and a few of the martyrs are from the reformation period, so women who were killed for refusing the catholic mass or beliefs. It’s not bad, the stories of those women are very encouraging, but something to watch out for if you are Catholic.

Written for early teens, but both challenging and encouraging.
