He lived his life as he chose. He went wherever he wanted to go, he fished whenever he wanted to fish, he hunted whenever he wanted to hunt, he loved whenever he wanted to love.
He lived a life of truth: the only worthwhile endeavor for a man.
His life and writings touched and changed millions of others; the legacy of genius he left will never be forgotten.
This book was most likely written too quickly and with some information may now be rather disproven - like the actuality that Hemingway was being monitored by the FBI. His paranoia was very real and it helped drive him to a dark place. There are some great stories and quotes within the book and it reads very well. The writers seemed very close to the subject, hinging slightly on "hero worship" - an idea they mention in the book. This was a book that was very much written in haste, which is most likely why there was never a reprint - at least not to my knowledge - and why it is a book that many do not know exist. For entertaining purposes and a quick read on a very interesting subject, I would suggest it. Is it gold? By no means.
