This autobiography by Partick Thistle and Scotland goalkeeper Alan Rough manages to not give much away over its 280 pages. Like Alan I grew up in Maryhill before moving to the Lincoln Flats in Knightswood but there wasn't a great deal of personal stuff in this book to get much of a picture about what influences he had on him. Most of the focus is on his Scotland career, which is fair enough as he had a pretty successful international career. There are a couple of people that he clearly has no time for and is happy to put the boot in. It is also quite refreshing to hear someone speak quite frankly about the problems with bigotry at Rangers without feeling he should pull his punches or try to be balanced.
