Maddie doesn’t love these, but it like that the words can be a bit different than our usual reads, which challenges her.

I loved reading this book with Braxton, he loved the action in the story and the pictures of course. I loved watching him mimic the action of the car flying over the canyon and how the green team car kept trying even though he got it wrong a few times. The illustrations in this book are great for a level 1 book and Braxton was able to read a long with me and knew exactly what was going on while I read it. The words were perfect for him (he's 5 years old). We've actually read this book over and over and it doesn't get old.

He loves this book and I love how easy it is for him to read it to me even. I really like how the level one books make the words bigger so they can read it easier. He does have to ask me what some words are of course, but that's to be expected. I love how simple the story is for him to understand but still has enough action in it to hold his attention.

My son really liked this book. It has hot wheels and racing. We even picked which team we were on and of course he has to be on the winning team so he could laugh at me and my losing team. It was an fun and easy read only. I didn't care for anything else in the story and neither did my son.
