I enjoyed this FREEBIE from the AllRomance ebooks website about a naive, young bull rider (Chase) taken for an eight second 'ride' by an older woman (Jenny) notorious for teaching her cheating husband a lesson. It introduces the reader to the author's Studs & Spurs series and some of the characters, and shows just a hint of Cat Johnson's writing style. Lots of potential, but not much ground covered in less than 18 pages. But I am intrigued...3 1/2 stars

Hmmm, don't know what to say...

This wasn't really a full story, it was more like a teaser for the series Studs in Spurs. It was fun - picture a naked guy running down the street with his deflating condom-covered erection leading the way, LOL - but it felt incomplete. There was no H/h and no HEA. I know, the "story" was told in only 9 pages (in PDF format) and not much can be accomplished in so few pages, but I've read other quickies that had more "meat". Anyway, it was a freebie, so there was no harm done. ;)

Funny and charming...

This was a fun little free read, I don't know what people expect with a little free read.

For me this is what I expect:

1 Spark your interest in the series .... check

2 Give a new reader a "feel" for the author and/or series. .... check
or give the current reader of the series a tasty little morsel ...check

3 Hit 1 emotional button (Make me laugh, cry, or mad etc.)....Check

Not bad for a freebie but at 13 pages we obviously don't get much of a story. I am curious about the series though & am curious to see if Chase gets his own book. I know he's not the hero of book 1 or 2 because the blurbs were included at the end of this story.

This made me laugh! It started out interesting as Chase follows a sexy older woman back to her place after his latest run in the Pro Bull Riding tournament, then the story takes a real nose dive that was hilarious! Could not help but burst out laughing! Its just what one wants from a short story like this. Little naughty and hilarious... Gives you a great idea of how Johnson writes and gets you interested in her Studs in Spurs series.
This is after few months after Unridden ( Book 1 of Studs in Spurs - see my review of it HERE ), doesn't spoiler anything for the first book though.


This is still erotic romance so be prepared for some action.

Yes, another lame, free ebook from BN.com. Lordy, this one was ridiculous. This one was very short, thank goodness, because I couldn't have taken much more of this. I'm pretty sure I laughed the whole time. Who writes stuff like this?? Goodness. More importantly, why do I continue to read this stuff? Man, it gives me a good laugh, that's for sure!

This was a very short story, where the focus was obviously more on the sexual aspects than on the story. Since I always enjoy an actually well-thought out fantasy (see plot) rather than just meaningless sex, I didn't enjoy this book.

I came across this e-book on one of my flash drives. I'd read it a while back. The story itself was not very long. If my memory serves me right, it had a bit of humor and a splashing of romance. It made for a nice distraction while waiting at a dr's appointment.
