After 15 seasons of the show, you tend to forget certain pieces (like Lady Heather's first appearance and Catherine's ex husband dying were in the same episode), or even whole characters (Riley Adams, anyone?). In addition to what you see just watching the show, it gave a little background for each character or things that were changed/molded by the actors.
